American House Jenison

I cannot say enough good about everyone in American House. Lynsi is amazing and extremely attentive and responsive to questions, texts, phone calls, etc.. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done putting my 92 year old Dad into memory care, but it was necessary for his safety. There are multiple staff members all around and immediately accessible when needed. My dad is actually very happy and comfortable there. He loves the food, the attentiveness and kindness of everyone there. The icing on the cake is that it was the most affordable and workable place financially, of all the places we looked at. So grateful that there are people that really care about our seniors! Thank you so much. NB

Seniors Moving Smarter recently worked side-by-side with the staff at American House of Jenison. While my team worked to move 11 residents, the outstanding staff tended diligently and compassionately to the residents without pause. My team commented throughout the day that they felt welcomed, residents seemed happy, and that we all worked together seamlessly! Kudos to everyone for handling what can be a stressful time with grace and commitment. Commitment to what, you ask??? A very clear commitment to the residents they serve and serve with dignity. Well done, American House!!

I am incredibly grateful for having my dad be a resident at American House of Jenison. They have gone above and beyond to make sure my dad had all the care needed to be healthy and happy. The relief I had during Covid that he was in a safe and caring place was tremendous. Prior to the quarantine phase in Spring of 2020, he had just been transferred to the memory care bldg that could better assist him. That was a smart recommendation on their part, and he fit in much better there. I am considered the “sandwich” generation, which implies being stuck in the middle of helping parents and raising children at the same time, all while keeping up with modern society (activities, education, sports, career, etc.) My dad was diagnosed with dementia several years ago so finding the right care, at the right time, was important. American House is very organized and consistent with analyzing their needs and appropriately matching. To be in the position I was in and not having to worry was a god send. I would recommend anyone to American House. Great care, great staff. Their environment was friendly and clean. Staff hired had what it takes to work in care facilities, making it easy for families to be part of their loved one’s journey. My dad did pass due to natural causes this past March of 2023. The staff was exceptional during his transition. I am grateful to have spent his later years with him, knowing he was in good hands.

When we were checking different facilities for my MIL, none gave us a good feeling until we checked into the American House in Jenison. She became a resident in May of 2019 and we could not have been happier with the facility. Between the field trips, visiting entertainment, crafts and exercise disguised as fun, any resident can be as busy and involved as they desired. While speaking with friends who are considering assisted living for their parents, we have always highly recommended the American house.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at the Jenison Willowood facility, during my mom's recent stay. As she continued her rapid health decline from stroke and dementia, it was difficult for us to find a facility that felt like home for her. American House Jenison was exactly what we needed. The staff was genuine and attentive. I had gotten to know most of them during the last month as I visited most every day -- and I would recommend them each without hesitation. They truly cared for and about my mom, and made her final weeks comfortable.
