Our Mom was welcomed in to John Charles Adult Family Home soon after starting Hospice care. The owners and staff made Mom and our families feel we had joined their family. We could check in anytime by phone or pop by for a visit during the day. The staff was very good about keeping us in the loop regarding Mom and her care. I cannot say enough about the knowledgeable, professional, and loving attention Mom was given. The home setting is very comfortable yet very up to date with all amenities for mobility assistance. Due to the smaller size of the care home, we witnessed the flexibility they have to adjust as residents' needs change. Mom especially loved the wonderful home cooked meals! We were very blessed to find this lovely family home at just the right time!

After living for a number of years in a local senior living facility, my mom needed visiting hospice care for cancer. It was evident that she needed more care than her living situation could provide daily. We were extremely fortunate to have found John Charles Adult Family Home (JCAFH) and that they had a space for her.
I cannot express in words how grateful we all are for the care that she received at JCAFH from the time she moved in through her passing. I'm happy to share our family's experience here.
So many things are outstanding at John Charles': the residence is located in a nice, safe neighborhood; it is modern, well kept, and welcoming inside and out; the staff is attentive to the residents and develop great relationships with them and with their families; the home always smelled clean & fresh; meals are fresh & home-cooked (we'd often smell delicious things when we'd visit!); and staff is so very good at honoring people's preferences be it for foods, programs on tv, music in their rooms, flexibility w/schedules, etc.
We also enjoyed getting to know some of the other residents and that was encouraged, too. Mom appreciated so very much the staff that the home owners employ, and that they themselves are involved in the home care and upkeep as well. She developed trust in the staff, growing particularly close to many of them. Additionally, JCAFH appears to be a good employer as their staff is quite consistent it seems, and they receive fair & supported treatment.
Throughout her living there, we saw Mom receive prompt, careful, respectful, encouraging, and warm care from the staff and home owners. They were very transparent if any questions or concerns came up. Dennese and Scott (co-owners/managers) were always in great email/text contact with us, and, the home has a care website where primary family can check in to see private reporting of what care has been given to their family member, what medications, visiting care/hospice workers, any observations, etc. for each shift.
Having worked as a professional social worker (I hold an MSW), I have visited many care homes through time. This home is truly exceptional! My family still often discusses how very lucky & blessed we were to find John Charles' for Mom's care, and we consistently recommend this wonderful place to local friends & family.
Warm Thanks, JCAFH. Best wishes to all who read this!
