My name is Melanie Bess, my husband Jonathan and I started Aspen Quality Care, an Adult Family Home in Aug of 2009. Just prior to that, I had Oasis Quality Care in Coeurd'Alene, ID for 3 years. My love for this work started while I worked at an Assisted Living Facility in Idaho and was a manager of one of their Homes with 10 residents. My husband is a BLS/CPR/1st Aid/AED Instructor and previously worked on Ambulance and Fire Department in California. We love working with the elderly and helping them to reach their highest potential. "If you don't use it, you lose it!" Our residents become our family, and we love them like our Grandparents.  
We are an Enhanced Assisted Living Facility, specializing in Alheimer's/ Dementia as well as Diabetic Residents and we handle special diets.  We can take the heavier care Residents and keep our Residents through End-of-Life (can remain here in the Facility while on Hospice and pass here in their HOME).  We are a mixed community ranging from fairly independent clients, to a multitude of different disabilities and we house male/ female Residents.

Aspen Quality Care is just that.  Quality care that the owners, and staff, can and should be proud of.  The atmosphere is calm and comfortable for the residents and their families.  Melanie and Jonathan Bess have created an environment that is relaxing and secure.  The staff are treated very well, and their goal is to provide excellent care.  The level of care at this home is unmatched by any home I have seen in this area.  I would happily place my parents or grandparents with this company.  Aspen Quality Care is setting the standard in the northwest for what an Adult Family Home should be.

My dad spent the last month of his life at Aspen with assistance from Hospice of Spokane.  We could not have found a better, more welcoming place on such short notice.  The staff was very attentive and caring.  The private room was clean, homey, and warm.  Aspen really did help us make the best of our dad's end of life situation. I have my Mom at Aspen and there is not another place that I would have her at.  I checked out several places but when I came to Aspen it was warm and extremely friendly.  The owners and caregivers treat each resident as if they are their family and they treat the family like that too.  The food is homemade and is excellent and if you need a special diet they do that to. My mom has been in other assisted living places but this is the first time she calls this one her home.
