Harmony at Harbour View

Harmony has a lot going for it but the "delicious food" they promise is not it. They are happy to take their very generous rent each month but refuse to do anything to make meal time what these Seniors deserve. My father has been trying for at least 6 months to get someone to listen to him about the terrible food and service they are forced to endure but no one is willing or capable to make the necessary changes. Harmony did however just spend a large sum redecorating the front lobby - which was practically brand new to begin with. Too bad they didn't put that money into a good salary for a competent Food Service director. Asking residents to eat food that is cold when it arrives to the table, inedible, or never being served at all is downright elder abuse. Most of these people can't cook for themselves so they rely on getting good, quality food from Harmony. They can't even opt out of the meal plan, trust me we've ask but that has fallen on deaf ears. At almost every "townhall" meeting the residents complain about the food. The director attends these meetings so they are well aware but will not do anything to make the necessary changes. These are our elders. They worked hard their entire lives, and now when they need to be taken care of - they are served subpar food. It's downright shameful. Harmony definitely doesn't deliver what it promises, food is not something that should be negotiable.

By all standards of measurement, Harmony at Harbour View is an outstanding facility providing world class services for the assisted living, independent living and memory care residents respectively. While recently looking for a high quality facility for a family member, our search led us to Harmony at Harbour View and without mincing word, we were just blown away with the warmth with which were received at the front office. In our further interractions with the various members of staff, it became very apparent that the culture of excellence is well established in the facility. Words would fail me to truly express the depth of my satisfaction on the standard of care being provided in the facility. Keep up the great work Harmony!

Harmony at Harbour View is a hidden treasure nestled in Suffolk Va surrounded by Western Branch (Chesapeake) & Churchland (Portsmouth) . I can honestly say, the staff here truly love their residents. They are dedicated, hard working, salt of the earth people. Harmony has it all, Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care, a movie theater, library, beauty salon, gym, on site physical therapy, breakfast, lunch, dining services, cafe, pub for happy hours, game room, transportation service, activities, daily exercise, games, outings, entertainment, you name it this place has it and is literally a one stop. I have personally sampled the food and its 5 stars for sure, chef Eric and his staff does a great job. I have no doubts when it comes to where to bring my loved one. There is so much to experience at Harmony with Senior living at it's finest. Every day is something new with activities for every lifestyle, movies, outings to ballgames or plays, crafting in spacious activity rooms, and music every day. You can enjoy learning a card game around a table of friends or playing Bingo in a full room, Billiards regulars are always willing to teach their skill to newcomers and you can always find laughs and stories at Happy Hour! I love the food and the fun, but nothing tops the friendship and love shared within the walls of this beautiful place. With kind and caring staff who make each day special, this place would get 10 stars from me!

i feel like i have a home with the welcome i have received from the other folks here . Neighbors have let me know when activities happen and when meals are so i dont miss a thing. My accommodations are like living in an apartment on my own. Having a living room, bedroom, bathroom, dining area, and kitchen with a refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher,and range top make Harmony Top Shelf. I also have a washer dryer combo. I also play golf and there's a championship course seven tenths of a mile from the facility .The club offers daily fees and memberships are available. Like the facility, the staff is professional and eager to help any way they can. I have had several dealings with the concierge and they have gone above and beyond for me.I am so happy to be here.
