This place is harboring a close friend of years and will not let anyone speak to him or see him without going through his niece who has absolutely zero authority over this man's life and decisions. He does not have a POA, i know because he told me. He was in a facility prior and wanted me to get him a lawyer so he can get help. It's like he's in jail, helpless. All because the family wants him to die so they can have his money and assets. It's extremely sad. This review is true, facts, and I wish I knew a lawyer to help this man. God will punish them for what they've done to this man. I would never put a family member in this place, the reviews are not true and have zero merit. God help him.

We began the process of looking for a memory care community a year before we anticipated needing to place my Mom. We toured many, and kept coming back to Brightview at Woodbury. We’ve been there for approximately 19 months and are so grateful to the amazing staff and leadership. My Mom is beautifully cared for, respected, and safe.

Brightview is a well maintained, clean facility. They have endless activities for their residents and everyone seems happy, and I believe the staff has a lot to do with that! I know my aunt just loves being there!

My mom was a resident at Brightview Woodbury Lake for nearly 8 years until she passed last month. In mid 2016 it was very difficult to get her to understand why living alone was longer safe or healthy for her. BVWL was familiar to her because of its proximity to her home & was the only place she'd remotely consider a relocation for the assisted living care she needed.
Once there and acclimated though, her health & general outlook improved immensely. Good, nutritious meals, a beautiful facility both inside & outdoors, regular social interaction with peer residents, daily onsite & regular offsite activities (games, live music, restaurant & shopping trips, movies, socials, exercise and much more) offered some offset to her perceived loss of independence caused by moving out of her own home. Her new BVWL home, however, had so many aspects that worked together to create physical, mental & emotional health benefits.
Where BVWL really stands above other Assisted Living communities, however, is in the quality of the staff they employ. Knowledgeable, dedicated to the wellbeing of residents and nearly always overflowing with compassion, kindness & friendliness that make this facility a real communty. And that attitude holds for every department on property not just those directly interacting with residents: food service, housekeeping, activities, health/wellness/nursing, & the on-site physical therapist, as well as facilities/operations, business office, sales, concierge & miscellaneous management & staff members who all create that unique, pervasive community atmosphere. Over time, Mom grew to consider many of the staff as personal friends.
BVWL also held numerous events each year to draw residents' families & outside friends of all ages to visit. From Christmastime dinner/receptions, to summer picnics, Easter egg hunts, Halloween trunk or treats, string band shows and more, BVWL goes the extra mile to truly be a living "community" in every sense.
While the experiences of those nearly 8 years of Mom's reasonably good health convinced us that BVWL had been a superb choice, it rose to even higher esteem when those final weeks of escalated care needs arrived. As hospice care became inevitable, the entire BVWL team came together to seamlessly integrate with the hospice provider virtually overnight, transforming their care to support Mom's new needs. All the while the ever present compassion enveloped not just Mom, but her family members involved in the events transpiring.
To Mom, the deeply touching experience of her return from the hospital to the Community was how many of the staff sincerely greeted her as she was wheeled from ambulance to her room or stopped by her room asap to enthusiastically welcome her back home, wish her well and offer their help.
We cannot adequately express our gratitude and admiration to so many at Brightview Woodbury Lake for going beyond providing "care", but amplifying it with the thoughtful, helpful, "can-do" attitude that's always overflowing with compassion while thoroughly professional. BVWL provided that to our Mom and ultimately to us as well.
