My mom had a knee replacement on Dec 21st with Dr. Kang from Desert Orthopedic Center. They schedule a home nurse to come over to care for my mom Dec 23rd. NO ONE Show UP!!! We call Desert Orthopedic Center & Alta Care Homehealth, No one call us back. We finally got a hold of someone at Alta Care by December 28th. They said my mom's insurance expired Dec 31st, that is why they haven't send anyone over. Which blows my mind!!! 10 days before the insurance expired but she can't use it. My mom work for MGM, since the shut down she will lose her insurance by the 31st of December but she already paid for cobra to kick in by Jan 1st. I can't believed that these people are blaming the insurance company, instead owning up to their mistakes, if they didn't have enough staff, just say it. That way we can use other company like Meadows Home Health or Home Base to care for my mom. I'm beyond furious & sadden that Alta Care HomeHealth can be so careless, to let someone sit for 8 days without informing them why they couldn't help. You have cause our family to worried & run around this holiday. All you had to do was call us on the 23rd of Dec, said you can't help us.
