I rarely write negative reviews BUT I am making an exception in this situation. I can say “wow”. A new standard set in unprofessionalism. This is by far the most unhelpful and frankly disgraceful agency I know of. Insulting, unreliable, and best avoided altogether. Specifically Rebecca from Unique made things much more difficult. Would not recommend.

This agency has a 3.5 and 3.0 rating, which is extremely low when you are considering using them as a trusted source of care within you r home or that of your loved one. As LOW as this rating is, it's too high for the level of incompetence and unprofessional conduct that exists amongst the managerial team. The ratings that repeatedly say that they are unprofessional are 100% ACCURATE. They repeatedly left me without care and without any notice in advance that they did not have staff available. I went over two weeks with out having care on my morning shift hours because they were too lazy to follow up with my insurance and have it completed. They lied to me and told me my care coordinated said she couldn't reach me, but they did not realize she had quit her job and prior to her leaving, we had been in contact daily. In the end I had to do their job for them to get my care. I had an outstanding career in advocacy for disabled persons prior to becoming disabled and it was one that far exceeded that of anyone employed there. This seemed to be a particular source of insecurity for Rebecca, one of the managerial team, who likes to hear the sound of her own voice but unfortunately has nothing of substance coming out when she speaks. They do not like to be held accountable for their failure to provide the necessary services they are contracted to provide. But I am an advocate and I believe in accountability. When Rebecca was appropriately confronted about her and her teams failure to tell me they did not have my shifts staffed for that day she attempted to compensate for her inferior performance professionally by screaming and hollering like a child throwing a temper tantrum, hanging up the phone when told not to raise her voice to me and hurling insults. Unfortunately she did not realize that I would have to respect a person to care what they had to say about me, when it comes to Rebecca or her team neither apply. I had to block all of their numbers after this abusive and pathetic conduct and notify them that all communications would have to take place to ensure a level of decorum is maintained and all communications of service is documented. They then began calling through blocked numbers rather that communicate through email. The only people who don't want their communications to be seen are abusers. They are now being investigated for failure to provide care, neglect and abandonment of a disabled person by state services. I wanted to be as thorough as I could in this review because this your life or your loved one's safety and piece of mind that is at stake when dealing with home care agencies. Their care givers have stolen food out of my home while I was resting in my bed. They have been sent out to get groceries or prescriptions and disappeared for hours. They have disregarded instructions not to eat in my living room on very expensive furniture and waited until they thought I was in my room resting and were caught eating there anyway. One even left her shift to go home and get her charger but returned with her 6 month old infant and she still had an hour an a half left on her shift! It is a disgrace the caregivers they employ and their inability to be accountable for their actions. Melvin, Shelly and Rebecca need training because it is clear that they are not suited for the positions they have been given. The level of dishonestly leads me to believe that the positive reviews are really just them in disguise. The bad reviews are the REAL reviews and you as a disabled person or the loved on of an elderly and disabled person are worth having real, genuinely efficient, effecting care from a competent, professional team in the office and in your home. YOU WON'T FIND THAT WITH UNIQUE HOME CARE.They are not unique at all, abusive, unprofessional and unqualified people can be found on any street corner.
