Assisting Hands, Janel, and our in home care person Tiana, have been incredible. Their adaptability, real and genuine care for my mom, and clear competency have made some difficult transitions easier and supported. This time in life is hard and we all will go through it, but having help to really be helpful, is a rare gem.

Hire Assisting Hands to help care for someone going through cancer treatments. I hired Assisting Hands to come 5 days a week for bathing supervision and general care. I also use their services for transportation to and from medical appointments. All the employees from scheduling to patient care were friendly and helpful. They were good about emailing, calling and updating notes in the patient portal. We are not needing their services full time at this time but would definitely use again if the need arises as very dependable and caring! Highly recommend!

We used the services of Assisting Hands - Clackamas (“AH”) for 4-1/2 years to provide in-home care for our elderly mother. While we had some positive experiences during that time, our tenure with them ultimately ended in a very big disappointment. On February 14, 2025, mom fell right next to her bed early in the morning and she couldn’t get herself up. With no ability to call for help, mom was counting on her caregiver’s arrival at 9AM. Unfortunately that day was snowy and mom’s caregiver couldn’t make it out of her driveway. The caregiver called AH and reported her inability to provide assistance to mom on that day, but AH did not call me to let me know mom would be alone. Because of that, mom laid on the floor for something like seven to eight hours. My sister and I both live out of town and telephone communication is key. Because we were not notified, we assumed the caregiver was there and we didn’t get alarmed when mom didn’t answer her phone. Once the time had passed for the caregiver’s shift to end and we still couldn’t get ahold of mom, a neighbor was contacted and she found mom on the floor. Mom was taken by ambulance to the hospital and was diagnosed with multiple injuries from her fall. If AH had done what they promised and called to alert us of the absence of our caregiver, we would have raised the alarm much sooner and mom would not have been left lying on the floor alone and in pain. After a week in the hospital, on medical advice we transferred mom to hospice care and she passed away five days later on February 26, 2025. Mom was 97 and definitely had a full life, but the pain and suffering she experienced at the end due to AH’s lack of attention to established procedures was very disturbing.

She was wonderful in every way and we would welcome her back any time. She accomplished tasks for Bart as asked and she helped me out with light housekeeping. She was pleasant, warm, and asked good questions.

Assisting Hands was excellent caring for my aging mother! She has Parkinson's and other debilitating conditions, which required someone to be with her every day, for 8 hours a day (until her children were able to be with her in the evenings). AH found excellent caregivers for mom for over 2 years; the caregivers were long-term, and always reliable and outstanding. In addition to the competence and caring of each individual caregiver, the office provided excellent oversight for medication management. Whenever we had any questions or feedback, they responded willingly and thoughtfully. They were flexible, and worked with the caregivers to find and adjust the optimal schedule for my mom. I would highly recommend them, and have already done so to other family members and close friends.
