Blakeford At Greenhills, Nashville
My wife and I moved to Blakeford in May 2023, just before the new West Tower opened in July 2023. At the same time the existing North and South Towers were updated with carpeting, lighting and paint. What a great transformation. All the common areas are new. Amities include three restaurants, indoor pool, a state of the art fitness center (with three full time staff members) and a group fitness studio for many fitness classes. There are many club activities; art, bridge, canasta, rummy cube, Mexican train, mahjong, history club plus more. Every Tuesday there is a happy hour with food and live entertainment provided by Blakeford and one Sunday a month we have a Social Hour 5p to 6p where new residents mingle and meet current residents. You need to visit Blakeford and take a tour. Make sure you see Vista, the 7th floor party room and outdoor patio - - it has a view no other senior communities have.
Mary and I have been asked why we chose Blakeford, and not one of the other senior living communities nearby. Most don't have Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing/Memory Care on one campus. But the final reason was when we met some of the residents of Blakeford. The residents and staff members are the best
July 2025 Update: We have lived at Blakeford for 2+ years. Friends and possible new residents ask - how is the food? I will say 4 star, occasionally 3 stars. The service staff get 5 stars. In addition to the normal menu, we have a Daily Dinner Special and a Daily Catch of the Day. During the summer, there is Friday BBQ and Happy Hour on the Fireflies patio. Here are some of the meals Mary and I enjoy

Blakeford has felt like home from the beginning. It truly feels like family from my neighbors to our staff. It is everything we hoped for and more. So many things to do and so much laughter! We are blessed to grow older here!

Blakeford is a wonderful place to live. My parents moved to Blakeford in October, 2019. My father passed away in 2022 and my mother continues to thrive at Blakeford. The facility, the staff, the service, the community of residents, and the location are all first class. We love visiting and staying with my mom there, it is just a wonderful place to be.

My husband and I have been residents of the Blakeford for one and a half years and it has been wonderful. The way the dining room is set up makes it easy to meet people, make friends and socialize. The activities are numerous with something for everyone. The exercise facilities and the pool are state of the art. The location of the Blakeford is ideal - it’s close to everything you might need(drug stores, grocery stores, mall). In addition, a beautiful neighborhood around the Blakeford provides a wonderful place to walk. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and is a big part of making this place so special.

We are starting a new life! No longer encumbered with ownership of a home, it is like a miracle to call maintenance or housekeeping and let it go. This is probably our last home, so we are allowed to make it as much "mine" (wall colors, sinks, counters, etc.) as you wish! The dining facilities are fine, and after raising a family with four boys, having someone put a delicious meal in front of you, and then...actually clean it up. These are all the external advantages, but the heart of Blakeford is its people - true community, fellowship, laughter and learning are the richest part of my new life that I embrace fully. It is the BEST place to watch the sunset of our lives.
