One star is far too generous. The Schenectady office has a nice coordinator in Kristi, but the majority of staff my father has had are abhorrent. Very very unreliable, complacent, and apathetic. There is little if any accountability for the aid to perform adequately and not to sound redundant, but the aides consistent do not show. Furthermore, it is typical for no aide to show up and the office does not even info our family, leaving my father without help for hours. I feel bad to be writing this but there is very little recourse and I highly encourage families looking into assisted living situations for themselves and/or parents to pass on All Metro Schenectady.

I wish I could describe the lack of care that was given to my grandfather, a loving, kind hearted man, beautiful home, welcomed all aids and workers. Because, my family advocated (in which most delicate patients who receive services don’t have advocates or family members/emotional support to listen and help make decisions when they can not do themselves). all metro decided to pull aids, and not respond to phone calls most likely in fear of them facing the blame of a poorly organized “health care organization”. We had workers enter the home and to refuse to wear masks; steal hundreds of dollars, and empty an entire freezer worth of food, without shame. In other words, my grandfather was diagnosed with covid. And passed 3 weeks later. Keep in mind, he did not leave his home in over a year, until he was taken in an ambulance that day. His wife of over 70 years didn’t leave that home either, unless it was for a medical appointment. Family members whom visited, or went there to provide care when all metro staff failed to show up, WORE a mask. My grandfather tested negative 3 weeks later, after being stuck in COVID due to your lack of responsibility of educating your staff on wearing a mask during a pandemic, in health care services none the less, he rapidly declined. No, at 93 years old, did we expect him to have a turn around?, absolutely not, but we wanted to give him the best last few years/months at home with his loving family and wife, comfortably. Yes he beat Covid, he was discharged to hospice services and passed away a short 4 days after. And received the most beautiful, tender loving care throughout hospice services. Nothing all metro would ever been able to provide. He passed with dignity and respect under hospice services. This is a nurse, his granddaughter who loved him unconditionally writing this post. Yes we are short staff as health care workers , yes we are all fighting this pandemic together. I don’t blame COVID, I don’t blame your tired staff, and defintley not your employees whom were willing to come and you shorted their checks and they quit their jobs. I blame you, I blame your company. The fact you couldn’t answer simple messages, phone calls, or even a simple yes or no if staff would be in, so our family could make other arrangements to make sure he was taken care of, this is what is absolutely sickening. Also, keep in mind, before i became a nurse, I was an employee for all metro, and I was a damn good aid. In which, made me an even better nurse. My grandfathers rights were taken advantage of. My family was taken advantage of. And yes, I know how to cope, I see death on a daily basis. Shame on you all metro, shame on you. I write this review In hopes no other families, patients or friends of loved ones endure the emotional heart ache we are left with.
