We are very grateful for Compassionate Care, which lived up to their name for my father-in-law. The nurses were wonderfully compassionate and kind, and had to deal with rapidly changing medication needs. They were very responsive and we were able to text the head nurse, Eddie, often to ask questions and inform him of any changes going on. Thanks also to Jen who handled our entry into hospice and was quick to respond anytime we had a question. We appreciate all of the staff.

In the past, relatives have told me about the hospice group that they dealt with and how wonderful they were. My brother's nursing home recommended Compassionate Care. I thought all hospice care was alike and found out right away that it is not true. We were so dissatisfied with Compassionate Care. No communication unless I made a call, and even then, the follow up was not good at all and it was with the social services director, not the nurse. He was in hospice care 11 days and we never met the hospice nurse. The last day we visited him, he was not very responsive. Not being medical people, we just thought he was tired. We stayed a couple of hours and decided to let him sleep, so we left. Upon leaving, I asked the person at the nurses' station if hospice had been in yet (this was around noontime) and he said no, no one from hospice had been in yet. It's a long drive, so we went home. Seven hours later, we got the call that my brother had passed! Omg, if we would have known he was near death, we would have stayed with him and held his hand! When my father passed over 30 years ago, we were notified by his nursing home (no hospice then) and we stayed over 10 hours to be with him and hold his hand when he passed. Unfortunately, no one let us know that our brother was near death! Since then, I've spoked to two people from Compassionate Care and told them the story and how dissatisfied we were with the hospice group. They both said that I would get a survey and to write down my grievances and dissatisfaction with them, so they can make their team better. It's been 6 weeks and I have yet to get a survey.

Hospice care has seemingly remained unchanged over the years, but CC Hospice led us to believe they were different. CC Hospice, however, promised to enhance my mom's quality of life with improved pain relief, instilling hope in us. Little did we expect that their approach would result in excessive medication, impairing her lung function. Strangely, they denied any correlation between opioids and this issue, seemingly disregarding extensive research on the topic. Thankfully, my mother eventually recovered, although she's forever altered. If your loved one isn't nearing the end, Home MD services might be worth considering. CC Hospice, contrary to their claims, didn't seem focused on enhancing life quality.

My mom, Rosalind Lichtmann, recently passed away after receiving care from Compassionate Care for approximately 6 months. From the initial conversation explaining the support and care they provide to the very last comforting conversation moments before she passed, we knew mom was receiving great care provided by a true team of angels - Whitney, Kim, Josefa, Barbara, MaryAnn, Karen and Cathy. Each has a special gift of empathy and understanding to support not only the patient but the family as well. As a family, we never felt alone as mom took her final journey. Thank you all. God bless you! Emily Durbin

We used Compassionate Care for my father who suffered from aphasia and dementia. We thought they were amazing and gave my Dad such wonderful care and allowed him to pass with grace and dignity. They helped us understand the process of death and helped prepare our father and ourselves for this journey. The nurses, Doctors, Chaplin, social workers , health aides were so supportive and were in contact with us everyday, for guidance, information and a shoulder to cry on. Our fathers death was truly a spiritual journey and it was a gift they gave to us to help our Dad pass in peace. We are so grateful to Compassionate Care Team, Kerry Galizio Pires
