The last time I was at this place, was over 3 years ago, but the stuff I've dealt with at this place has bothered me since. I had my OB appointments here, as well as my first delivery, and it was a negative experience. The OB office screwed up my last appointment so my appointment card said one date (a one week appointment), but the computer said another (a two week appointment). I tried to explain to the one woman at the front desk, but all she did was smile at me and gave me an appointment card for the one in the computer, which was for 3 days after my estimated due date, and told me to have a nice day. I ended up going into labor as soon as I got home because of all the walking I did for nothing. We called the hospital 3-4 different times and they seemed to brush us off and made it seem like I wasn't in actual labor despite timing the contractions that were progressively getting closer apart and one nurse eventually admitted that they didn't take me seriously because I wasn't making noise and I was told that it's normal for first time mothers to have some cramping. My water started leaking and it was insisted that I was just peeing myself until I yelled out that I was pushing. I was made to give birth on my back, which slowed my labor to a halt and since it was during COVID, I was made to give birth with a thick N95 mask on that made it extremely hard to breathe so I was struggling to push and my baby kept getting sucked back in until I just wanted them out and pushed enough to get them out, which caused me to tear (that was a horrible recovery and the other hospital said that they stitched me up really weird and tight so that explains why, I guess). The one older nurse that we had was rude to us and she forced my then newborn's arms down because he was fighting the swaddle and jammed the binky into their mouth to shut them up; the look on her face and mannerisms while she did it, you could tell she was annoyed. I was also almost sent home with extremely low levels in my blood that put me at risk for heart attack and stroke, but they caught that at the last minute. They seem to like to wait until the last minute to file with your insurance, too. My insurance wouldn't cover my operating room visit to stitch me up because they waited too long to file. My insurance stated on both papers that, I and the hospital received, I wasn't responsible for paying the bill so they didn't try to harass me for it. However, the pediatrician office that they're connected with decided to file with our insurance almost a year after his specific wellness check up and that paperwork didn't have the disclaimer so they sent my child a bill and kept calling me to pay it. My insurance company told me that what they're doing wasn't legal and to call them and have them transfer the call to them so I did just that and the billing representative told me she'd "make some calls" to whoever and call me back with a decision, then hung up. I didn't hear back until almost a year later, and it was to try to get me to pay it again. I had a much better birthing experience at Nathan Littauer Hospital.

We had 4 different nurses. They were all very kind except one. You could tell she rather be anywhere else. I asked her to ballpark a time frame for us to be out of there because my 4 year old was getting antsy. I wasnt rude to her. She very rudely yelled back and said " Mam I dont know right now but you have to wait your turn, youre not the most important people here." I hope she gets spoken to. She made both me and my son very uncomfortable. The only defining characteristic is the large cold sore on her lip.

I had surgery at St. Mary's Hospital today and from the time I walked in to the time I was released to go home every nurse/doctor and the ladies that checked me in were professional and attentive helping me with anything I needed. They are truly caring and kind people who care about their patients. God bless everyone of them. Sincerely appreciate everything you folks did for me today. Thank you. Scott Ferguson

The hospital and medical staff were excellent, however, I am not happy with the billing dept. I was billed $702 for surgery room when I didn't have surgery. I called, they changed it on the insurance bill, but not on my bill, that cost me $295 co-pay for surgery, which I never had. Doctor said no to surgery and I went home. Still, after it went to the review board, I had to pay it. Isn't that insurance fraud?
