My husband suffered a massive Covid stroke in 2021. Erlanger sent him to Siskin. It was a long haul with inpatient and then outpatient therapy. I worked with him at home after the therapy. He was in a wheelchair for a little over a year but is now up walking everywhere. Thanks to the wonderful staff. I really wish they could see him now. They never thought he would come this far.

First of all, I was impressed with the number of people that I had contact daily. I didn’t have any problems with any of the staff. Since I had a broken femur, I needed help just going to the bathroom. When I called they came right away. No waiting. A doctor visits patients each morning. I had an unusual experience with my dietary needs. I had one nurse and one physical therapist actually brought me something within my diet to eat. Physical therapists were on time, and I had a schedule so I knew when I would have therapy. I had some really good nursing assistants. I really had a great experience out of the experience of a broken femur.

I was fortunate enough to spend a month and a half in intensive physical therapy, 4 hours a day, 6 days a week. Every person I met was happy to be working there. Without trying, each eventually became a friend. Friends that I didn't want to disappoint. They understood my trauma and each time I failed, they looked hurt. When I was able to get past a hurdle, they were as happy as I was. When I had recovered enough to be dismissed, I cried. I haven't cried since I left home. This felt the same. Admission to Siskin is easy. All you need to do is to break a few key bones. But if you are ever in need of a facility like this and you have a choice, this is the place. You could do worse, I know because I've been there. I sincerely hope you will never need Siskin Hospital Rehab.

My mom had a stroke on her left side and after a week was transfered to Siskin. We were very pleased with her stay. Meredith, Maddy, and Sarah (PT, OT, SP) were amazing. Dr. Williams and Lee made sure we were informed every step of the way. Mom was not walking and had recently had surgery on her right leg. So walking wasn't even possible but if it wasn't for these ladies and their teams she would not be functioning now. We are now with Siskin outpatient in Cleveland and again.... without the original team I think she would still be in a bed and not motivated to get back to her new normal. The nursing staff seemed short staffed so I did spend a lot of time to make sure mom was comfortable. The lady that cleaned her room was awesome too, I can not remember her name but my mom is a bit of a clean freak and having a clean room everyday helped her relax and heal. Mom isn't up and running around but the MSgt is making sure her Granny PT is moving forward and she is working hard to make him go away. Thank you all for giving her tough love while pushing her to get back on her feet.
