Please note: This opportunity is not guaranteed and is dependent on selection criteria. *This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules. Position(s) at this location will also receive 5% Premium Pay for facilities open twenty-four hours per day. Employees must physically work at the facility 3 days per workweek to qualify. The 5% Premium Pay is in effect until June 29th, 2025. As a Nursing Assistant, you will assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing-related care to residents of the Washington Veterans Home in accordance with current standards of practice. Some of what you'll do: -Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene care, toileting, eating, and assisting with the monitoring/feeding of meals and nourishments. -Assist with range of motion exercises, practice infection control techniques, and observe for and report changes in resident condition to licensed personnel. -Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data. -Document intake and output records. -Perform basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stocking, applying creams or lotion to intact skin, etc. -Dispose of contaminated waste as appropriate. -Maintain a safe, sanitary, and harmonious environment. -Clean bedpans, washbasins, urinals, commodes, beds, nightstands, and over bed tables. -And more! Required Qualifications: -A combination of education and experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis. Experience must be relevant to the position. -High school graduation or GED equivalent. -Valid Washington state license to practice as a nursing assistant certified. -Six (6) months of experience involving customer service in a healthcare setting or six (6) months of experience involving direct patient care. -Active status on Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) Registry. -Proficiency in the English language and be able to read, write and speak English. Preferred Qualifications: -Long-term care experience.
