Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description

Home Health Aide (HHA) duties include: Works within HIPAA, Corporate Compliance and Resident’s Rights policies Report on duty in the Health Services Office to the staff member in charge. Receive daily report by reading the 24 hour report. Check for any specimens that are needed and attempt to obtain them. Sign out/carry a pass key and return it to the office at the end of the shift. Answer all call lights promptly. Make rounds on assigned unit(s) (per time schedule) and check the status of all residents at the beginning and end of the shift. Assist and encourage residents with their activities of daily living according to their ISP. Included would be dressing, grooming, (oral care, hair care, nail care, shaving), toileting, bathing, transferring and walking. Report changes noticed to staff member in charge as soon as possible. Obtain and record resident’s weight as scheduled. Immediately report any reportable change to the staff member in charge, unless orders direct otherwise. Assist with resident’s personal laundry following standard procedures in use of laundry equipment. Brothers of Mercy is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. Maintains a current state certification as a Home Health Aide. One year experience in home health, adult care or long term care preferred.
