I visited my mom on Christmas Eve after not seeing her for a month and a half, but just as I started to reunite with her, a staff member abruptly interrupted us. It’s clear my mother wants to come home, but the situation is complicated by Deputy T. Chapman from the Oconee Sheriff's Department, who placed her in Emergency Protective Custody, seemingly to impress a friend at the hospital. I’m deeply concerned about the integrity of the system here, especially considering that Oconee County hired a resource officer who was later investigated and convicted for child-related sex crimes. His charges for transporting a minor to a hotel were dropped in a plea deal following an investigation by Department of Homeland Security. It feels like there’s a troubling pattern to remove people with Medicaid or Medicare from their loving families to profit from their care in nursing homes. I urge you to check out my YouTube channel, PORKTROLL, where I document my mother’s story and the issues surrounding her treatment by the Oconee County Sheriff's Department and DSS. You can also find coverage by local journalist Jason Boyle on OconeeCountyNews.org and on his YouTube channel, The Jason Boyle Show. Please help spread the word. I'll refresh this review until y'all send my mama back to Seneca or get her out of y'all's facility after seeing my mother for the first time since 10-10-24 i was elated just to lay my eyes on her.. but that wouldn't last after seeing SEVERAL MARKS on her body.. they knew David Hammond was coming and dressed her worse wound so it wouldn't be visible... so i stayed just about a hour which was hard because i had my autistic son trying to escape the facility.. while the locals there seem to care i tipped the one in charge of my momma $20 because she was kind and referred to my momma by her name and not THAT LADY or other generic names... the white woman from New Jersey made me feel unsettled during our visit and wasn't ever to far away.. after a while I seen why.. my mother was trying to tell me how bad she was suffering.. I'm unable to afford a lawyer and DSS took my mother from my home because a police officer told them to.. but here's my mother in her own words and the officer telling me why he's taking my mother from our home...i wouldn't have EVER thought this would happen or could happen in America much less a born again believer in Jesus Christ... folks protect yourself and record everything when your around powerful people because it would just be a toothless redneck with a story if i hadn't taken these videos to show The atrocities on my mother and happening to our small family of 3... we're poor and i drove 150 miles (3 hours) to see my mother and drop off her some clothes and her dentures... and remember if they tell you not to record it's because they're hiding something... Jesus had given me grace they this whole ordeal so honor and glory go to him for strengthening me and my son and my mother while we go through it before this we used to take homeless people out to eat with us let him come to our home and bathe give him a warm place to sleep if they wanted it but now I'm too busy tendon to my mother's needs instead of fulfilling my missionary work with the homeless in upstate South Carolina

Yesterday, I visit this nursing home (Azalea Woods 123 Dupont Drive Aiken SC) one night delivering food to one of the residents/patients there. Unfortunately, the place had a loud odor of urine smelling up the entire facility. The urine smell was so strong it had my eyes watering! In addition, as I was leaving the facility I witness one of the CNA workers rammed one of the wheel chair patient into a trash can, however the CNA worker laughed and didn't even apologized to the patient. She treated him as if he was not human with no feelings at all. Then on top of that the facility was opened for anyone to walk in freely at 10 pm at night, plus no one was at the front desk to monitor the place. To anyone considering this place for their elder family member or loved one …..please please please reconsider!

My grandmother has been in this nursing facility for the past couple of months. The care here is absolutely terrible. The staff seem not to care at all about their residents. My grandmother is gotten up in the mornings and left to sit in a chair all day long. She has been hospitalized twice in with in the past month for severe UTI's. The first time it happened, the nursing staff told my Mom that she had been tested for a UTI and she did not have one, only after demanding that she be sent to the hospital, did we find out she had a full blown UTI and was in the hospital for 3 weeks. Upon returning from her last hospital stay, my uncle requested that she not be gotten up and placed in a chair from now on. We would like for her to just rest in bed as she is near death. The very next morning when my uncle arrived, she had been gotten up and was in a chair again. She has bed sores from not being changed and re positioned regularly. I am a CNA and I have worked in long term care many years and I know that this is not acceptable. The administrator tries to sweep everything under the rug and make excuses for anything brought to her attention. We are in the process of getting my grandmother out of this place ASAP. I would never recommend Azalea Woods for anyone. They don't even deserve 1 star but I couldn't post without choosing one.

Rude staff I witnessed a staff member saying something mean a patient. And when I called to report the supervisor had an attitude claimed they couldn’t hear me and when they finally head what I said hey acted like they couldn’t care less. I will be contacting dehec to tell them what I witnessed. If you love your family members think twice before deciding on this home for them. Not all the staff her is bad but there are bad ones here.
