This place is the pits! I’ve been a patient here for eight days now. They don’t answer your light. They bring you things on their time and they tell you that they can’t help right now because they’re busy doing something else. I waited an hour and 10 minutes to go to the restroom. When I ask for meds that are prescribed for me as needed I never and I repeat I never get that particular medication. They need to get rid of every single person that works here and start over. The nurses are rude, the aids ignore you and Therapy is hit and miss. I would not send my dog here.

I recently had an experience with Alton Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the warm, family-like atmosphere was evident. it means each resident receives personalized, attentive care. I felt confident and comforted knowing that every detail was designed to promote healing and well-being. The team here goes above and beyond in every way. The nurses, therapists, and support staff work as a cohesive unit to ensure that every resident feels not only cared for but also respected and understood. Their innovative “Rehab to Home” program and individualized therapy sessions are tailored to meet one’s unique recovery needs, making the transition back home as smooth as possible. I was particularly impressed with the engaging activities and delicious, meals that added an extra touch of warmth to the entire experience. It’s rare to find a place that feels as much like a supportive family as it does a professional rehabilitation center. I felt my family member was truly taken care of—every staff member added to the sense of community and genuine care. Whether you or a loved one needs short-term rehabilitation or a nurturing environment for recovery, Alton Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation stands out as a beacon of excellence and compassion. If you’re considering a facility that combines clinical expertise with heartfelt care, I wholeheartedly recommend Alton Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation. Their commitment to creating a healing home-like environment is evident in every detail, and I am grateful for the care and dedication they provide. There’s so much more to explore about how personalized care impacts recovery

This place should NOT be in business. Do NOT take anyone you love here if you want their lives prolonged. Places like these are supposed to help the patient get better, not make them rapidly decline. My family has had multiple infuriating experiences here, with the last journey being absolutely unacceptable. They've given crucial medications several hours late, they've taken away NECESSARY medication for a patient with heart issues COMPLETELY AWAY FOR DAYS when their primary doctor AND the hospital enforced said medication to be taken TWICE a day. They never answer their call lights. Patient needs help? They're lucky if they're tended to in 45 minutes. Our loved one whom was in there specifically for not being able to walk to the bathroom themselves amongst other things - pressed the call button for help to get to the restroom and no one came until over an hour later. The loved one had to do their best to make it their themselves so they didn't soil themselves. They gave our loved one the wrong dosage of medication. They had our loved one sign paperwork not giving clarity on what the paperwork was. Unacceptable. The lack of care at this place is disturbing and disgusting. I don't know who is running this place but they need to be seriously investigated and reprimanded for the awful treatment of their patients. Luckily my family is able to advocate for our loved ones in circumstances like this - but imagine the patients whom have no one to call out this facilities BS and get them proper care? Shame on this facility to the highest degree.

I spent a week here during COVID. Although the furnishing were a little outdated, it was clean and the food was good. But, best of all, the staff was absolutely amazing. Not only did they see to my medical needs, but they went out of their way to see that I was as comfortable as possible. I couldn't believe how NICE everyone was. A few months ago, I was told that I would have to go to Rehab for an extended time. Naturally, I decided to go where I had been treated so well before. On arrival, my first thought was that the ambulance had brought me to the wrong place! As I was wheeled down the brightly lit and tastefully decorated hall, I was stunned. Shining floors and tasteful artwork on the walls caught my eye. Everything looked brand new! I was later to learn that a major renovation had taken place. During my month long stay, I was sorry that none of the original staff seemed to be working there, but I was pleased with the nursing staff. The occupational therapist and the physical therapist that worked with me were fantastic. They got me on the road to recovery and taught me skills that I have continued to work on with my physical therapist at home. Although I hope I never need Rehab again, if I do, this is the place that I will return to. 4 1/2 Stars

Giving 0 stars unfortunately wasn't an option. In short, I'm an RN with 25 years experience in various elderly care facilities. My mother was placed here for rehab. This is truly one of the absolute worst. There isn't enough room to list everything of course but in a nutshell, 17 days there she received one shower. They NEGLECTED to collect a urine sample the doctor ordered and she was septic from a urinary infection when I pulled her out of there! There were a few caring staff that were the exception but they could not do their job and everyone else's who were SITTING! One other major thing. They do not answer call lights!! They simply ignore them or put them where an able patient cannot reach them. I kid you not those lights are shut off by staff that say " I'll b right back" with a smile, never to return. My mother fell the 2nd night she was there trying to get to bathroom by herself with a fractured leg because they don't answer lights! I was there everyday and that place slayed me. Unbelievable the neglect. The folks that have to be there are in my prayers. Beware what the social workers tell you at the hospital. I told my mothers hospital social worker I would not allow her to go to a dump and that's exactly where she wound up. B careful folks!
