WESTWOOD HEALTH AND REHABILITATION

I recently visited a facility while searching for a permanent home for my grandfather, who had a stroke two weeks ago. From the moment I stepped in, the administrator greeted me with such warmth and was incredibly helpful throughout the tour. I was really impressed by how clean everything was; it made a big difference in how I felt about the place. While I know no nursing home is perfect, the overall atmosphere felt welcoming and reassuring, which is so important for both residents and their families. I truly appreciate the dedication and kindness of the staff in creating such a comfortable environment. It gives me hope as I navigate this important decision for my grandfather’s care. My 95 year old grandfather was admitted for physical rehabilitation at the facility in Archdale. We were told he would be there 4 weeks, he was discharged within 2 weeks. I highly recommend, the facility is very clean, medical staff and admin are helpful, attentive and always professional. The awesome Therapist and medical assistants were able to help My Grandfather gained 100% leg mobility and strength quicker than we thought.

I know my family member can be difficult at times, and that’s why I really appreciate the staff here taking the time to provide a true person-centered care approach. I currently work in the healthcare field myself, so I understand the staffing challenges everyone is facing right now. At the end of the day, no facility is perfect but what matters to me is that they genuinely care. I’ve also noticed a real difference in the overall leadership. The Administrator hasn’t been there long, but you can already feel the change in the building. The communication feels better, the atmosphere is more positive, and the staff seems supported. That gives me confidence that my family member is in good hands.

My father came to Westwood after a major surgery. When he first arrived, my rating would have been a zero if that were possible. When this facility was purchased by another company, positive changes began almost immediately. The facility was properly cleaned, a receptionist was at the front all day, and the nurses and other staff seemed much happier. The other great change was that they actually started doing activities - Bingo, Painting, Ice Cream on the porch and nails to name a few. These activities were printed on a calendar each month and posted in each resident's room. My father also enjoyed the physical therapy and by the time he left last month he was walking well.

This place is the worse.. they let the patient wait for hours before they come and assist. They say different things just to get out of doing their job. Thank God for Meka she is the best thing they have going. My mom was told she could use the bathroom she had to use the bed pan. They would spill pee all on the bed when changing the bed pan and leave it. Again Thank God for Meka she was able to get my mother to bathroom. She got her to the bathroom without any issues. She was so loving& caring. Anything you would ask Meka for she made it happen!!!!! Honestly she is to good to work at a place like that- she seems to be the only one who cared They don’t bathe them.. my mother was there for 3 days and if it wasn’t for me she would have never been bathe. That bathrooms are horrible. They don’t clean them. What I can say is the physical therapy department is great!!!!! Love them. I’m so glad my mom is able to talk and communicate bc I feel bad for the patients that can’t.. so if your love ones are there make sure you go see them daily bc I can promise you they are being over looked
