Had a horrible experience while visiting family in the facility. I was going to 300 hall to visit my grandma and I couldn't find her room so I kindly asked a nurse, she said her name was Jessica, for directions and she was completely rude. Sighed and rolled her eyes at me. When another resident kept trying to get her attention because he clearly needed help, she told him not to bother her right now. I was super thankful to find out she is not my grandmas nurse, I would've had some very unkind words to have with her. Other employees were kind, rooms all throughout the building looked nice and it smelled wonderful. Food looked well made and the activities area looked amazing.
Great continuity of care from a very seasoned staff.. Staff are so confident in their care they bring their own family members in when the need care. It’s amazing to watch their interactions with the residents.
The Admissions Director, Cassi Hess went above and beyond to assist me and my mother that’s battling stage 4 cancer. I’m her caregiver at home and there were some things I needed and questions I needed answered in preparation for my mother needing rehabilitation in the near future. Her selfless caring heart and nature really aided in my mother spirits being uplifted throughout her battle. We are thankful and forever grateful for her efforts and guidance.
I was at this facility last week for a tour for my family member. I came during an event and the staff had all these residents outside playing games and cooking out! One of the staff members said it was nursing home week I think. Either way, they definitely showed their residents a good time!
UPDATE:
My original post was nothing but praise for this establishment. Unfortunately after new administration took over, what a change…..my observations went from a five star to a one star. Please beware and make sure you check on your love ones frequently if placed here. Be an advocate for you love one.
We recently needed to place both parents into a nursing home. After visiting many homes in the area, someone suggested Austinburg. What an answer to prayer! The people are caring and supportive of their patients. The facility is clean and bright. Everyone has been such a tremendous help during this transition. Both parents are happy and thriving. I can not thank the workers at Austinburg enough. Finally, my mind is at ease.
