My great uncle was placed here for rehabilitation for about a month. It smelled terribly of urine and was very dirty every time I came to visit. One time I had to alert the nurses sitting there chatting away two doors down from a room of an elderly woman I didn't even know that she was falling out of her bed and calling for help over and over. They seemed annoyed. My uncle could not get out of bed to use the bathroom and would hit his button to call for help to do so and one day when we got there he said he had been waiting a couple hours already then we tracked down a nurse, told them and still waited with him another hour before someone came to help. My uncle now has a distinct fear of being put back in that place. He always tells me if he falls or something happens just make sure they don't stick him in The Blossoms!

5-Stars for Blossoms’ Staff, Not for the Corporation This review gives 5-Stars to the Staff of Blossoms in Berryville. If this post were a review of the greedy Corporation that owns Blossoms, I would give it a 1-Star. I offer my review to inform you of what to expect if your loved one should end up in Blossoms. The first thing to understand is that Blossoms is a ‘Medicaid’ nursing home. Blossoms is not a nursing home for the wealthy who can afford one that looks and operates like a 5-Star hotel. No, Blossoms is for low-income elderly at the end of their life who cannot afford a better place. As such, Blossoms depends on Medicaid to pay for their destitute patients’ care. And Medicaid is as stingy as a miser, paying as little as possible. Thus, Blossoms has very limited resources to provide proper care. That is not the fault of Blossoms’ staff. One must realize that before condemning the Blossoms’ short-handed staff for struggling to provide a high-level of care. On the other hand, Blossoms is owned by a Corporation that puts profits before the well-being of its patients. In order to squeeze out every penny of profit, the Corporation hires the bare minimum of employees to keep the nursing home operational. The short-handed staff is sorely challenged to care for a large population of patients. Additionally, the Corporation pays starvation wages in exchange for extremely hard, dirty work. Imagine getting paid barely enough to survive for changing soiled adult diapers and etc. So, yes, the heartless Corporation deserves 1-Star. Thank God for Blossoms’ patients that the Staff genuinely cares about their patients and does its absolute best to provide the best care possible. Again, the Staff is working under the restraints imposed by limited resources and the demands of the Corporation to put profits first. It is a tough balancing act for the Staff. But they manage to pull it off … though not always perfectly through no fault of theirs. So, the Staff deserve 5-Stars. I must offer special thanks to Blossoms Administrator Jason Ketcher for putting compassion for the patients and their relatives above corporate demands for profits. He will do everything possible for his patients short of breaking the Corporation’s greedy policies. (And you cannot blame him for not risking his job by breaking the Corporation’s ‘speed limits.’) Jason is a man of honor and integrity. He is the unsung hero of Blossoms of Berryville (as well as some other Staff members). In Conclusion, Blossoms is not the best place for the reasons explained above, but it is the best place for low-income elderly patients … because other ‘Medicaid’ nursing homes are far worse. (I know because I investigated other low-income nursing homes before choosing Blossoms for my uncle.)

Horrible!!! Kicked my 86 year old father-in-law out…. Because he has dementia and wanders???? And he hasn’t got out of bed at home since he left there… what did they do to help him; isn’t that what nursing homes are for? Elderly people, confused people, and people who just need help??? Thank God he has family, what about the people that don’t?? I’ve been in nursing homes since I was a kid, cause my mom worked there, and then I became a nurse to help these type of people… I am disgusted at this place!!! What has happened with the nursing homes??? And sent him a huge bill for a week…something needs to change, what if that was y’all’s dad or grandpa??? This nursing home needs help, and obviously a new DON and administrator, and whole care team! One day we will all be elderly and fragile and maybe have dementia plus other health problems… does that mean put you out??? No that means they need a visit from state asap!! Had to click on one star to be able to post it, y’all don’t need stars… y’all need to be investigated!
