If only there was a negative star rating was an option…. Absolutely Disgraceful – Unsafe, Filthy, and Dangerously Neglectful If you're thinking about placing yourself or a loved one at Windsor of El Camino, do not do it. My experience there was not just substandard—it was a health and safety nightmare that left me worse off than when I arrived. Let’s start with the condition of the facility: filthy is an understatement. The floors were so warped and bubbled that I could barely move down the hallway safely—and I was using a walker that they didn’t even provide until day six of my stay. To make matters worse, the walker they finally gave me was literally held together with zip ties. That’s the level of care and attention to safety you can expect here. Out of a 10-day stay, I only received four sessions of physical therapy, each about 30 minutes long. That’s less than two total hours of rehab—completely unacceptable and far below what was promised or expected. The neglect from the staff was the most serious issue. One night, I was forced to sleep with no dressing over my stitches, even after making it clear I needed wound care. The overnight staff coldly told me it “wasn’t their job” to change it. That level of indifference led directly to an infection that required a return trip to the hospital. Throughout my stay, I constantly heard other patients crying out for help—sometimes for hours—with no response from staff. It was heartbreaking and unacceptable. The staff were either lazy, apathetic, or flat-out unqualified to be working in any kind of skilled nursing environment. Windsor of El Camino failed on every level: cleanliness, basic care, medical safety, and human decency. This is not a place for healing—it’s a facility where neglect is routine and your well-being is an afterthought. I would never send anyone here. Not a friend. Not a stranger. Certainly not a loved one. If you care about someone’s health and dignity, stay as far away from this facility as possible.

I arrived at this facility to heal after an automobile accident. When I got there I realized there was no air conditioning it was broken and the TVs had been turned off several weeks before I got there. I asked to take a shower. The wound specialist had to make sure that my ankle was healed enough. She took the dressing off of my ankle and there was black on my ankle. I asked her what was the black stuff on my ankle! she reassured me that it was just bruising. Are the blood from my bruises settling in the bottom of my body. I did not believe her and as a wound specialist I cannot believe that she did not know what dead skin look like. I felt very suspicious about that and I called 911 and they took me back to the hospital and no my foot was dying the skin was dying on my foot. I have total reconstructive surgery on my foot and ended up in the hospital for two more weeks and another nursing home for over a month. Other than the wound specialist the staffing there is very nice they work under horrible conditions. I wouldn't put my worst enemy in that place. If I had listened to that nurse and waited I would have died of gaingreen for sure.

I am deeply disappointed and distressed by the care my father has received at this facility. My dad is paralyzed on one side of his body due to a stroke, and the nursing home's negligence has caused him significant harm. First, they placed him in a wheelchair that doesn't recline, which is essential for his condition. One day, he was left unattended and fell out of the chair, hitting his head. No one helped him back into the chair for a long period of time. This is unacceptable, as he requires constant assistance and monitoring. On top of this, his basic needs aren't being met. When he needs a change, the staff takes an unreasonable amount of time to respond. In fact, his roommate tried to document the staff abusing my father, after which they moved the roommate out, further alarming us about the environment. The most concerning issue came when my dad was admitted to the hospital. The urologist discovered that his Foley catheter had not been changed for four months, despite the protocol requiring it to be changed every 30 days. The urologist knew this because he was the last one to change it when my dad was in the hospital previously. This is a serious violation of his care needs. To make matters worse, it took three months for my dad to get a doctor's appointment, and the nursing home failed to send him despite KiKi claiming to have arranged transportation. The appointment was rescheduled for three months later, only for the nursing home to cancel it without informing us. If I hadn't followed up, I would have shown up to the appointment with no one to bring my dad. My father has also lost 40 pounds in 90 days. The staff claims the scale doesn't work and that his wheelchair weighs 30 pounds, but this doesn’t explain such extreme weight loss. Additionally, it seems they are not charting or documenting his care properly, which raises serious concerns about the overall quality of care. Finally, my dad has developed MRSA, which has spread to his blood and bone and he has kidney failure and sepsis. However, the nursing home never informed us about the MRSA infection, and I believe they were aware of it. This level of neglect and lack of communication is unacceptable. The hospital says my dad has 0 percent chance of recovering unless he amputates his limbs, so his options are amputation or hospice. The staff at this facility is negligent at best, and it is clear that the well-being of their patients is not their priority. I would strongly advise against placing a loved one here.

Windsor El Camino Health Care Center is an excellent rehab and long-term care facility. In the seven plus months mom has been here she has improved and recovered from aspiration pneumonia. The staff here are wonderful, friendly, and professional. The overall care provided has been excellent. Highly recommend this facility for the quality of care they give.
