This place should be closed down! Go to Presidential Oaks or Encompass - only those who you wish to punish should go to Harris Hill! It is unsafe, negligent, unprofessional, and that is putting it kindly. While most of the administrative workers were friendly they were either underqualified, overwhelmed, or just pretending to care because their practices were appalling! Amy, Josh, and Christine should either undergo lots of training, or find a different profession. I know it must be extremely difficult to work in their profession, but it's a big deal - the physical and mental well-being of others, and lives are literally at stake. This facility is in dire need of new administration/leadership!
My father was there for rehabilitation for a little less than a month. Nobody manned the entrance, admission paperwork was signed upon discharge, my father had an activated DPOA (which they activated - and I did agree) and yet they had him signing legal forms. Additionally, he was not taken care of (the exception is the therapists - they seemed to do their job). My brother and I tried our best to be positive but when your loved ones' hygiene is neglected, basic needs are not being met, and it takes 30-45 minutes for patients to get a response, it is unacceptable. It never occurred to me, until about a week in that my father had not had his teeth brushed or been bathed. When I inquired, they said he hadn't asked. He was a fall risk (so he was not allowed to get up without supervision), and was dealing with severe cognitive decline (hence his reason for being there). Additionally, he was almost always covered in urine. He shouldn't have to ask for basic care.
The room my father was placed in was dirty; other people's items were stored in his closet, behind the door, and in the corner of his half of a small room. I would wipe down the table that my father used, his sink area, and the floor whenever I visited (it was always sticky - EW!). At discharge time (despite it being planned over a week in advance), the paperwork hadn't even been started. It took hours! Additionally, they provided an insufficient amount of meds upon discharge, which was a headache and a blessing; since the meds should have been covered by insurance but it wasn't because of the paperwork they had my father sign (again - he had an activated DPOA).
I realize this is a lengthy post, but the issues with Harris Hill were endless. I am a caretaker for 4 elderly adults, and I have been to several rehabilitation centers; fortunately, the wretched conditions at Harris Hill are not the norm in other facilities throughout the state. It is hard enough to see a loved one have to battle through the physical and mental challenges they face, but to provide a facility that is less than substandard is disheartening.
Please note, in addition to the therapists, Julia (social worker) was a delight to work with. She went above and beyond trying to resolve the errors of others. Harris Hill should be filled with more people like Julia. Thank you, Julia!

My mother was in this facility for just about a month before she recently passed away. In that time, there was a couple times that they didn’t turn her oxygen on, we had a conversation with the administrator, social worker and hospice nurse about my mother needing extra care to which we were guaranteed that she would always have 2 nurses helping her but then 2 days later only had 1 nurse helping her and then she fell. She passed away sometime in the early morning of the new year. The facility called her husband around 6 am, by 8 am when I arrived, there were still multiple nurses that had no idea. The housekeeper even blew right past us as we were trying to stop her as my mother’s body was still in the room. To this point, almost 5 days later, no one from the facility has reached out to any of us. If you’re looking for a place that cares, this isn’t it.

This place is a joke. I had a family member pass away here last week after a horrible experience over the past month. Multiple falls due to staff not staying with her when they were supposed to be. There was mold on the ceiling tiles in her room (see pictures below.) A majority of the staff was rude and judging by their attitude and general demeanor hated their jobs making it very uncomfortable and uninviting. My family member broke her femur/hip with one of her falls which apparently wasnt well relayed through the facility or they just didnt care because they handled her like a rag doll time and time again even with her pleading through tears to be more careful and gentle. A police investigaton was opened after she was inappropriately touched by a staff member. She had to call family on her personal phone to have them call the front desk to send someone up to help her with things at times due to staff not responding to call button going off or her yelling for help. Those instances were after her phone was finally returned to her. Her cellphone was "accidentally" taken with dirty laundry on a Friday and was assured they would have it back on Monday.. which she didn't get back until that next Friday (7 days later). Asking for and getting ice chips was like pulling teeth half the time. 2 evacuations due to carbon monoxide detections took place in the 1 month she resided there. Luckily the elevators were working since the elevator annual inspection expired 2/2024. I will say that the janitorial staff was always very friendly and pleasant. Besides having a bed for her to move to from the hospital, nothing else was good about this place. Also thanks for calling to say sorry for our loss... 6 days after she passed.

This place is Horrible and I have filed a complaint with the state. My Mother dies here last Wednesday and still no communication from them. This place will forget to care for your relative, no communication from Staff both to us or each other. They will forget to turn on the oxygen machine, forget to feed, cell phones will go missing. Because of their lack of care your relative will most likely die if you send them here. We even had to file a complaint with the Concord police due to inappropriate touching of my mother
