ELGIN NURSING AND REHABILITATION CENTER

They lost (stole) my father’s clothes. One pair of pants was very recognizable and meant a lot to him and they say they have no idea what happened to them. They also went without giving him a bath for two weeks until my mom said something and so they came and wiped him off. His food is also normally cold. One night, for dinner, they gave him a cup of cottage cheese and peaches. My brother ended up going to get him something substantial to eat.

As of the writing of this entry, I have been deathly sick with a stomach infection for over 3 weeks now and have received little or no care. I see this with so many other residents also. Friends, please look at this facility very closely before you think about placing your family member here. The quality of care is poor.

Very friendly. I’m very funny about leaving my mom anywhere. But I was very pleased with how the whole staff was with there patients. Very caring and helping the patients in anyway they could . Not just social worker kept me up to date but so did the nurses. They would call as well and tell me what they were doing. They all worked together as a team and you could tell they were very genuine. I can’t say one thing bad about the place. When they say there going to help you get something done with a patient they get it done.. very highly recommend.These are a couple of pictures of my mom and at lest she is smiling.

Our entire stay at the Elgin Nursing Home has been a very positive and uplifting experience! The staff is helpful, courteous, and very engaging with the patients and their families! We especially enjoy going to the dining room for special events and meals! We also enjoy interacting with the other patients and their families! We are very grateful for the opportunity to stay in the facility for respite care! Thank you so much!

Elgin nursing home is a good place to be but like every nursing home they are short of help but I watched the CNA work hard when there was only one and they were running up and down the hall fast paced trying to do their job and help the patients the best they could. One or two people really were exceptionally good. One girl named Mindy which is not her real name but I couldn't pronounce it good hadn't been working there very long but she was one of the very best there. Also Sheila a tech and Justin a tech and Grace a tech and nurses Sierra, Ami and some of the medicine people. I like people there but they just need to appreciate their hard workers a bit more and do something special for those Tech's who work extra hard and try to make the patients comfortable. I know it's a hard job but people that don't have compassion for the sick really don't need to be in that field as it is hard to find good caring workers. Thank you for caring about my input on this matter.
