I would not recommend Fort Worth Transitional Care Center, it does not even deserve the one star review. During my mother’s stay, I found her in diabetic shock, partially out of bed, seemingly unattended for hours. Staff response was slow and unprepared—I had to request a glucose check and then had to request for paramedics to be called. Equipment was in poor condition: broken bed rails, a wheelchair with only one working brake, and a promised mattress that was never replaced. Basic needs like emptying a portable toilet required repeated requests, and nurse call responses were delayed. Overall, the level of care was unacceptable. It was evident that the staff there were not happy to be there.
A great facility for your love ones. Awesome rehabilitation Staff is great! And one thing very important it’s clean !! I needed my mother’s bed fixed, maintenance came right away to and fixed it. If you need anything they’ll take care of it. Over all a great place! :)
While this facility excels in kitchen service and workout facilities, it’s woefully understaffed and ill-equipped to meet patient needs, at least in my experience.
During my recent three-week stay, I encountered some compassionate, competent staff, but others are not only unhappy with their job, but every request from yours truly was met with a groan or door slam.
I sensed that the staff was overworked, but they still did the best they could. The kitchen and gym are this facility’s best features, though some staff were fantastic (the speech therapist, as well as the physical and occupational trainers excel).
Overall, I cannot recommend this facility and urge those seeking rehabs to do some extensive research. Others must be better than this one.
I came into the facility and spoke with the BOM, Erica, about long-term care for my grandmother. You can definitely tell how knowledgeable about Medicaid and the facility she is. On top of being very sweet. The facility is beautiful with lots of views of the cultural district and lots of amenities for the residents. Although my mom ended up discharging safely back home, Fort Worth Transitional would be a facility that I considered first in the future.
After touring several facilities, we chose Fort Worth Transitional Care Center for my grandmother, and we’re so glad we did. From the front desk to the nursing staff, everyone has been so kind and welcoming. They’ve helped her adjust to the transition and encouraged her to get involved in social activities, which has lifted her spirits. It’s comforting to know she’s not just being cared for she’s part of a community now.
