My husband has been at Hemfield Manor over 2 yrs they have treated him and family with kindness and caring. Any concerns we have had were taken care Room and my husband are clean Food good and staff always helping. Very thankful for Hemfield. Nurses and aids I would be lost yes they work hard and long hrs and deserve our respect and love. I thank God each day for all the kindness and care all Hemfield does.

***DO NOT USE FOR RESPITE*** Clearly, they were NOT equipped to handle a 99 year old, WWII veteran with dementia. They were made aware of this by my VA social worker when I considered taking a respite period so I could finish moving in our new home and have hand surgery. Sadly, I've had to CANCEL my surgery and now have my dad while we are STILL moving in. This was a very BAD experience and certainly NO RESPITE!!

I visit family here often. Mostly in the evenings after work. I see the same 4 people working each time and it's usually the same 4 people working every single time. They are running and hustling. I actually had to ask one of them to slow down because she was absolutely drenched in sweat (the air conditioning in the building is disgusting) she explained that she couldn't because she was the only one working her hallway of 20 plus residents. She didnt even have to tell me that. It was painfully obvious she was alone. She (the aide) did every task by herself with no help from the nurse at the cart or from the 2 nurses sitting at the nurses station. One of which was on her phone playing games. The aides clearly have no support system and in return the patients have no support. This poor girl was doing her absolute best and we waited no longer than 10 mins to have our bell answered. She was kind, courteous and especially knew my family member like the back of her hand. She did the job. But, she shouldn't have to do it alone. My complaint about the lack of help and support for the aides does not stop here. I have also called and complained to the state health department and to labor relations. This has be illegal to work your aides like this. To work your nursing staff like this. But im sure the company is making a beautiful profit from the staff doing the work of 2 or 3 people by working alone. My family is being taken care of but deserves more for the amount of money they pay to live here. Its a beautiful place that im positive the feel is more important to care for than it is their staff. I bet that new parking lot really put a pep in your staffs step!

My husband has been there for a month and a half. I was under the impression that he was receiving vital therapies, I was wrong. Apparently they were under the impression that he was there for end of life care, that could not be further from the truth. He has missed appointments with the VA because they refuse to communicate. They are slow to answer his call bell, if they answer it at all. Sometimes it's not even within his reach. One day his tray of food ended up on the floor & no one even noticed even after he hit the call bell. He literally sat in his own feces all night because no one checked on him. I'm about to take him home & get hospice into our house. Disgusted.
