First off, this place is clean! Like a hospital but still more home like. The food here is actually quite good, varied and balanced. The chef goes beyond whats needed changing sauces and spices on different normal things, a delight! The staff is very kind and understanding of the patients personal needs and go out of thier way to help. It's hard coming here from the hospital and having to recuperate your muscles back to where your safe to go home. The gym therapists at Dulles are the best I've seen! The training and knowledge really shows in the day to day efforts to make you stronger, very good group of people!

I am pleased with the caring staff and the cleanliness. The food and diet my mother is on is very good. I would like if they helped my mother use the phone in her room, however. And for staff to call me from that number and if leaving a message to do so clearly and fully. I can tell the team at Dulles work hard and care for all the residents and that is reassuring so I’m most grateful. Thank you.

The Dulles Health & Rehab Center claims to put families first. Yet as the first-born son, I was denied even the most basic information about my father, George Berklacy — the who, what, when, where, and why of his passing, his transfer, and his whereabouts. When I called for information, the head nurse casually stated that he had “expired,” anyway, then questioned why I would need to know more. I was told the doctor would not call me back. I was also told that only the single contact listed on their form could receive information — even though I am immediate family with available proof. There was no transparency from internal staff and complaince officer in Va Beach. I was told this was “state law,” which is not accurate — it is company policy. When a next-of-kin appears to act with selfish motives and communication is bottlenecked or withheld, and vital information is held hostage, an organization should have the strength, ethics, and policies to protect the broader family — rather than participate in the blockage or allow itself to be used as a barrier. Families deserve truth, not misinformation or shut doors. In this situation, they did not put the family first. May truth prevail. 🕊️

The facility had its ups and downs although I am fortunate to say more positive notes. We were allowed a brief tour of the facility when we first arrived as we were apprehensive leaving our father at first. The staff was kind enough to show us around which eased the transition. The PT and OT staff were professional, patient and kind with my father and aided him to regain his autonomy. There were also three staff members in particular that stood out. Mr. Alusine, Ms. Claudia and a kind nurse from Cambodia (unfortunately I didn't get her name). These three were extremely professional, patient and kind when caring for my father and they kept their spirits up! I am appreciative of their services and for working with me the three weeks my father was here. There were also staff members that would check on my father often which was much appreciated. The few faux pas. It seems the night staff miss the signs left out or forget to adhere to special requests or accommodations. My father has disphagia and was not allowed to consume liquids with a straw. I would often find his drink with straws even after I requested no straws. Also, certain supplements were given to my father which appeared mysteriously. I would then find out that the doctor at the center prescribed it but nobody had explained to us what they were for and not to mention, he was supposed to receive said supplement a week prior. I was not clear why this had happened but a refusal to take said supplement ended that. One last note. The center allows family members to sleep with the patient in the same room and also lets family visits well past closing times.

The facility is nice, but the parking is very diffiicult. I had to park across Centreville Rd at the school for a 1 hr visit. You should limit parking to 1-2 hrs in front and along the side (not in far back) to create turnover in spaces.
