ALDEN POPLAR CREEK REHAB & HCC

My mother is here for rehab. I have had the pleasure to speak to Aaliyah, the Front Desk Receptionist, each and every time I visit my mother. Aaliyah is so very kind and respectful! Every reception area should have a person like Aaliyah working for them! She absolutely makes my day! Here kindness is an example of how everyone should be! God Bless her!

Update: it seems as if Alden has replied to me below. If they actually read my review, then they would know their administrator is the problem here. If I could give zero stars to this review, I would. However, this complaint is directly linked to the administrator of this facility- Laura Bailey. I had a loved one here for long term care and passed away recently. While I have nothing but amazing things to say about my loved ones direct care staff, when decisions are made, the head of the building is the one who gets to decide. That being said, there was false orders and deceit involved with my loved ones care specifically made by Laura. Not only was she incredibly insensitive to our needs, but she put my loved one in danger during the last week she was alive and actively dying on hospice care. This was a horrendous and awful situation for me and my loved one to have gone through. Please think twice about bringing your loved one here. This is sad because before Laura was hired, I did not have many major issues with this facility. I did call the state of Illinois and they were tagged due to Laura’s improper nursing care decisions and false orders. So these complaints were completely validated. She continues to work there as the administrator. I don’t want this happening to the next person there. Like I said previously, the CNAs, nurses, and activity staff were all phenomenal and just wonderful. I’ll always be so grateful to them for the kindness and care they provided to us. It starts from the top…and unfortunately the top of this is rotten. This has also been reported to the corporate office. I hope one day in the future, Alden understands the severity of having someone like Laura run their building and putting others at risk. Until then, please be careful.

My family was nervous given some of the poor reviews but we all agree this place is a solid five stars. We were on the main floor for short-term rehab for my 87 y.o. Father. Most importantly the staff — everyone from the kitchen and cleaning crews to the aides, nurses and therapists —is exceptionally kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and professional! Yes it’s an old building but it’s clean and cozy. We are extremely grateful to know that our Dad is being cared for by this amazing team of dedicated people! Thank you!!

Alden Poplar Creek is a great place for your loved one. My uncle has been there multiple times for rehabilitation and current is on Hospice care. His life is ending and I am eternally grateful to the loving and caring wonderful people that work in this place. Everyone is very attentive from the nursing staff, to the dietary department and every person who enters his room and comes in contact with him. He loved all of the Greatttt big holiday parties chef Jorge puts out. and we have come time after time to enjoy of the nice spread ourselves. Highly recommend this place for whoever is searching and needing help to placed a family member in a nursing home.

Good Morning:) From my First hand experience, Everyone needs to know how Special this Staff is, How Clean this Facility is and Most of all How Professional this Place is!! From the close to the front parking, to walking in the front door, to sitting down in the assigned room every step with thought leads to a Secure feeling that my Family member is in the Best Hands!! I Want to Thank Everyone again Here at Alden and say that all optional Facilities should watch and learn from You to see how it’s done!! TY:) 🇺🇸
