Worse place for nursing . I had lots of chest wall and rib pain from cpr. Danielle, LPN made me wait 1 1/2 hrs for my pain meds even though it was time for them. Amber, LPN saw me in the hallway when no one had answered my call-light for over 40mins. I was in severe pain and she told me “get to your room and go to bed.” Stated they had an emergency. I had requested the last day I was there that I needed to go to the er and the nurse ignored all my requests. I had my son call the facility since he was out of the area due to national guard training. Ty was my nurse and after my son called she came to my room and sarcastically asked me what I wanted to go, which I was admitted. Therapy was great, but nursing was the worst.

I have a relative at NHC which requires significant medical care that has been a resident for several months. I couldn’t be happier with the care my loved one receives and he even often comments about the excellent care. I live a few hours away from NHC and know they will contact me if any medical situations arises. I find NHC staff very approachable and they work as a team with me. Everyone from the receptionist, to ancillary staff, and professional staff are so friendly. I find all staff very respectful and they work jointly with me in care planning. I am kept well informed and I have been impressed with their professionalism. The food is delicious and I’m impressed with the laundry service. I am thankful and blessed that NHC staff continues to take great care of my loved one at a time when he requires ongoing specialized care.

Lindsey - a tech on nights was amazing to me the night my grandmother passed. The techs and nurses on nights and days over the past two years have all been great. Thank you so much for the care you gave my grandmother I will always appreciate you guys.

Unhappy with the care my grandmother was given. She was only there a few days and her health declined due to lack of care…the staff were friendly but didn’t seem to fully be attentive to what they were doing. It got to the point if we hadn’t made them send my grandmother back to the ER we would have moved her to a different facility. Also while leaving one day from there, I couldn’t get out the door because a man was sitting in a wheelchair looking out the door. And apparently he had on a “wonder bar” that kept all doors locked while he was near a door…so someone had to come move him away from the door for me to get out the door…not only that the poor man was in a dirty shirt that you could tell needed changed…the place seems to be so overwhelmed with people and not enough staff…or the staff don’t really care…either way I wouldn’t take my loved ones here

Watch out if your loved one is on Medicaid, and they decide they need the bed for a full payer. We give this place one star. My dear brother Jimmy has dementia. We placed him at NHC Johnson City due to its high rating. He arrived recovering from a broken hip and had been in a wheelchair for more than two years when, after a few weeks of being at NHC, they "dumped" him, supposedly due to his being an "elopement risk." They had coded alarms on doors, and Jimmy was also wearing an ankle alarm that rendered doors locked when he approached them. Remember: He was also wheelchair-bound. They did not give us 30 days to re-locate, and they informed us of the "dump" via a phone call. This move traumatized my brother, and he hasn't been the same since. Most of the staff were great, but evidently the administrators are heartless. Watch Out!
