I felt it necessary to post our experience with Alexandria. Our family was very concerned about having my Grandmother admitted here for care because of the reviews online. My Grandmother was here for two weeks after a bad fall. In that time, she was cared for very well. Every time any of us called to speak with her, we were connected immediately. The staff was always courteous and friendly in person and over the phone. Her room was kept clean, she was kept clean and when any of us went to visit, we felt welcomed. They even offered and fed my Grandfather meals while he was visiting her. Her physical therapy went very well. She is now walking and able to get in and out of bed with minimal assistance. Her doctors and physical therapist updated us on her progress throughout her stay. I was very pleased with her care. I’m grateful to Alexandria and their staff.

My husband spent 3 miserable days and nights in this horrible place. It is woefully understaffed and thus unresponsive to the needs of the patients. He was placed in a room with a man who talked and yelled day and night. when I arrived at 11AM on Sunday, my husband said he had asked to be cleaned ,but no one came to do it and he wanted to be moved because yelling man had turned into screaming man! I rang for the nurse, When the aide came n I said I needed to talk to the nurse right away and my husband needed to be changed immediately. She said she would get someone. Two hours and 4 buzzes later, someone came to clean him up. Since he was recovering from a bladder infection with sepsis, it was imperative that he be kept clean and dry at all times, but he was ignored for more than 2 hours! At that point, my daughter and I started making arrangements to get him home. We got someone to care for him overnight, hired a private ambulance and signed him out. At no time did his nurse show up to hear our concerns. Once home he recovered nicely, being able to sleep at night was a big help.

Please don’t bring your loved ones here if they are recovering from anything. The staff are very unprofessional and they do not care about their patients needs. First incident my grandmother wasn’t cleaned up for about two hours, she asked twice! Another incident was that my grandmother was given pain medicine in time, again she had to wait about an 1hr 30mins. The staff don’t care about anyone unless the patient family members shows up to demand the request!

My mother was just a patient at Alexandria Care Center two weeks ago. At first she was naturally very afraid of being in a nursing home. During her stay everyone was very caring and kind. She recovered from her hip replacement surgery quickly enough to go home in a relatively short time. When she was getting ready to go home she said "anyone would be lucky to do rehab here." Thank you, Alexandria Care Center!

5/2018 - Seems like a decent place (they seem to be staffed quite well) for a patient, but if you try to phone a patient they are so bad. On wait for 10-15 minutes, phone disconnects, transferred to the wrong patient. Just a terrible system they have there. The phone has to be physically carried to the patient for some patients. Needs major improvement. Also as with most places the food is way sub- par, could be due to the fact "tasty" food may not be good for the diet. Although they are supposed to have valet parking, but parking can be a challenge, as the streets are crowded.
