A family member that trusted her loved one into the care of this nursing home shared with me an experience that she had with her husband at this location. The family chose this facility because it looked modern and luxurious and beautiful. They thought they were choosing the best place. Her husband suffered multiple strokes while in their care and the facility workers claimed he was just sleepy because he would stay awake all night. This was negligence and irresponsibility on their part. I would never recommend this place to anyone it might look fancy and well taken care of, but the people inside are in great danger at the hands of these careless people.

I want to start off by Thanking and congratulating all staff, nurses, kitchen and cleaning personnel. All are outstanding from the moment you enter the beautiful facility! Very welcoming ! The atmosphere is amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better place than this for my brother who needed rehabilitation through Physical Therapy. Thank you all ! Especially to Dalia Molina she is outstanding, her persona, empathy with patients and family members is outstanding . It is very evident that she cares for her patients not just my brother. Thank you also to Mannie and Lenard the other nurses who were always on top of things and informing us on my brother. To the Physical Therapist a big thank you for caring . Highly recommend this facility and I know that this is the facility that I would want to come in the future if I ever needed the help. It’s a 5 plus rate ! Thank you ! Happy Nurses week ! My husband spent 27 days here recovering from a heart attack. The rooms were very nice, they were clean and private. The nurses were professional and knowledgeable, helpful and kind. The physical therapist was a very nice and happy lady, super pleasant to work with. The speech therapist was a patient man, and explained everything in a way that I could understand it.The CNA's had great attitudes, you could tell they liked their jobs. They were always in a good mood . And I have to give a special shout out to Rosa. She is a special young women. She cared for my husband with a quiet grace and a big smile even when it was hard. Many thanks to everyone involved in the care of my husband.

My husband spent several weeks in the restorative care section at Mission Valley. It is very well maintained , beautifully decorated , has nice private rooms and handicapped bathroom. The therapy department though busy is excellent. His nurses and aids were excellent. I am a retired nurse and I watch everything closely. The food is well seasoned and tasty despite it being institutional food. One of our favorite things is we could bring our 2 little dogs to his room all day long. It made him feel less like a "patient" And more like family. We could occasionally bring food from the outside for meals. Diatary visited him every morning for him to select foods from the days menu. The business office ladies were very kind and always helpful. I was told Mission Valley was the best place around and we absolutely agree.

This was a good choice for my mom for short-term physical therapy, the people are very friendly the place is warm and inviting love the decor, the rooms are large and pleasant and well kept, all the rooms are clean and it does not have the old people home smell thank god, it could use some more medical equipment to make their job easier like better beds, better wheelchair equipment, better bedside tables everything seems very old and dated and the beds don't have roll out rails on the bedside which could be dangerous for fall risk folks, I also noticed that their nursing buttons are less than adequate you cannot get a hold of anybody when you press that little white button , frankly this is no fault of staff they have no control over what corporate wants! wheelchairs are old and too big to fit through the doors of the bathroom which made it kind of difficult, the overall appeal of the place is a positive I was comfortable having my mom there for the short-term, I think my mom liked it but she definitely did not like the food, I wasn't that impressed with it either they need certified meal prepper that knows how to read an prepare by dietary guidelines for elderly with certain conditions a speech therapist is not qualified for that ! But a dietitian is? I say this because my mom ended up losing a lot of weight while she was there, she wouldn't eat the food they misdiagnosed her ability to chew and feed herself so they were bringing her essentially Blended up food that was just disgusting it was not that great! We had to do a lot of complaining I hated to be that way but sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease in the meantime I brought a lot of meals and Ensure drinks! So something to watch for that would be my recommendation if your family members complaining about the food or losing a lot of weight they're not lying LOL overall though I would choose this place over many that I've seen in the valley mainly because the staff is so amazing and they try to do the best they can with what they have they have the patient's best interest in mind!
