My family member was recently there for skilled care and he would tell me the caregivers were mean and impatient and very lazy. They would sit doing nothing but play on their phone and get upset if they had to help a patient. However, He would have a sound of relief and would say that a nurse named Heather was working. I was sick and could not make it to see him but I talked to him multiple times a day. He really had a different tone and mood when Heather was his nurse. She treated him like a human and would laugh and talk to him about happy memories in his life. He needed that. She would update me on any change in his condition and I felt so much better when Heather was with him. Thank you Heather!!! But Heather could not be his nurse everyday or around the clock. I could hear such a difference in his anxiety and stress. I would not recommend the rest of the staff or the way they treat patients who need more attention.

I would not even give this place 1 star. This is for the New Albany location. I cannot comment on the other Otterbein locations. The place looks very nice and clean both inside and outside. However the staff does not communicate with each other and the individuals in the house are not given quality and care for rehabilitation after an injury or illness. Do not send your loved ones to this facility for rehabilitation. They are unable to provide proper PT/OT and need to provide additional training for their staff and aides.

If i could give this place -10 i would. This is NOT a SKILLED nursing facility. I wouldn't take my dog here after what we experienced. My father was here for 3 weeks after breaking his hip. When I visited this facility it seemed very nice but once you get into the guts of this place, its a complete disaster. The house i toured was not the house he was initially put in. The room smelled of urine no TV no phone nothing! He was moved to new house, the one I toured. The first 2 weeks they ran his sugars over 400 and they couldn't seem to manage it at all, you can't heal when sugar is that high. The staff was rude and unfriendly this includes the director levels when they got called out on the bs. Therapy was okay, but still not at the level you need. Thank God my mother was able to be there daily. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES ALONE IN THIS PLACE. The one "nurse" Ashley didn't even know how to hook up a suction machine. I won't even go into how unclean it is. I got my father out of here after 3 weeks with the help of HEARTLAND Hospice and my father past away at home two days later, in loving & caring environment, not this place that doesn't really care about the well being of the patient or the input of the family. In closing, i did ask about the bad reviews when I toured the place and they said, "the bad reviews are from disgruntled employees" Dont fall for this explanation! This place needs shut down! Please please beware!

If I could choose zero stars, I would. My sister fell and broke her hip; she stayed at Grant Hospital for a week, then was transferred here for skilled nursing and rehabilitation. She was put in a memory care unit, no therapies at all, left in wet, filthy Depends for over 10 hours, no assistance to get to a bathroom. We are working to get her out of here! One nurse was assigned to 3 family units, not one nurse per area. It sounds good...but we haven't seen anything of the services that are advertised.

At first I thought this place was perfect for my grandmother. It was going okay, until I received a call that she "fell" and the hospital told me she had a dislocated shoulder, which she proceeded to tell me an aid pushed her and the doctor agreed there had to be force behind it for that much damage to happen. Nothing happened to the worker, but they moved her to a different house within the facility. Things just kept coming up, a cell phone mysteriously disappeared that we had just bought her so she could talk with us. Then she kept falling, i was told she was pretty confused and I was told it was just because she wouldn't keep her oxygen on, and nothing else concerning. The phone call came at 1am with a death time of 11pm. Within 2 days she was cremated, I was never offered to go through her things, they got rid of all of it, and only asked me if i wanted her ID and things of that nature. I was told everything else had already been pitched. They kept some of her money even though I am POA, I attempted to call and get more information and no one will even respond to my calls. Do not leave your loved ones alone here. The wool was pulled over my eyes too many times.
