To everyone: my wife was recently taken to La Paloma ("the dove") Healthcare Institue for recovery and therapy post surgery.
An excellent experience, much more than was anticipated and expected! Skilled nursing with round-the-clock attention and assistance, the attention and care of four (!) doctors who studied and monitored my wife's progress. Medicines and such immediately available as prescribed. A caring staff. Food quite good, and steps above routine hospital food!
Post-surgery therapists were knowledgeable, considerate, and experienced. All in all, a professional staff with a very humane touch.
My wife and I rate La Paloma Healthcare a full five stars and more. Thank you all so much!

🌟 Review for La Paloma Healthcare Center – Oceanside, CA
During my two-year medical hiatus, La Paloma Healthcare Center became more than just a skilled nursing facility—it became a place of healing, consistency, and perseverance. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of hospitality and warmth that carried me through one of the most challenging chapters of my life.
🏥 Facility & Comfort The center itself is bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The photos reflect what I experienced daily: open spaces, comfortable rooms, and inviting common areas that feel less like an institution and more like a home. The gardens and gathering areas provided a sense of peace and normalcy, which was invaluable during recovery.
👩⚕️ Staff & Care The staff at La Paloma embody the word family. Nurses, CNAs, therapists, and coordinators were not only professional but also deeply compassionate. Their attentiveness was consistent—day after day, month after month. They didn’t just provide medical care; they offered encouragement, patience, and genuine human connection. That enduring support gave me the strength to persevere.
💙 Hospitality & Support What stood out most was the way the team treated me as a whole person, not just a patient. They balanced medical excellence with emotional support, ensuring I always felt heard and respected. Whether it was physical therapy, daily routines, or simply sharing a kind word, their commitment never wavered.
🌿 A Place of Healing La Paloma is not just a healthcare facility—it’s a community built on trust, care, and resilience. For me, it was a place where perseverance was nurtured, where comfort was prioritized, and where I was able to rebuild my strength with dignity.
✨ Final Thoughts I am profoundly grateful for the excellent, consistent, and enduring care I received here. La Paloma Healthcare Center will always hold a special place in my story of recovery, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a facility where compassion and professionalism walk hand in hand.

I was here about 4 years ago, the care i got was amazing. I met so many amazing people who I truly felt that cared about my health and loved what they did and were not here for just a check. Some people including, Jacki Aguilar, Francisca Garcia, Silvia Sanchez, Monica, Alma Moralez, Jazmin Ramirez, Celia. I am truly grateful and if i could give more stars i would.

I don't usually write reviews but I am pleased to write this one. I was discharged from La Paloma last week after spending 3 months there. I was admitted there due to an infection in both legs caused by weeping lymphedema. I also had a stage 4 open wound on my left heel. Thanks to the amazing wound care team Sharon, Jonna and Zachary, the infection is cleared up and my legs have stopped weeping for the first time in years. I am very grateful to them. Being there for so long, I got to know the staff pretty well. They are a wonderful group of people. The nurses and CNAs work very hard to care for their patients and they are also fun to be around. They made my stay very pleasurable. I'm not a person that likes to exercise but the OT and PT teams made therapy a lot of fun. I actually looked forward to my daily sessions with them. If the need ever arises, I would return to La Paloma without any hesitation.

The anger and disgust I have at this moment for this facility is palpable. A family member was taken here after suffering a stroke. He is full Navajo, and his hair was completely shaved off without his consent. A simple conversation to trim it if needed could have been done, but he was treated as a dirty, unkempt old man instead of the family elder that he is. Family was able to move him to a better facility, but it's heartbreaking when he asks to braid his hair and then remembers it's gone. He also has bed sores and has lost a lot of weight. The negligence he endured is reflected in his appearance and health. I pray we are not too late to help him recuperate from the stroke.
