I recently had a stroke and am residing at Cumberland Trace. Since I have been a resident here, I have relearned how to use my left foot and even walked today in therapy. And thanks to my speech therapist, I can speak a lot better too. And I like the activities here, such as bingo, and I appreciate the church services; I feel very accepted. The people here have been really good to me and they really work with me, I am proud of myself and I have no complaints!

My mom was in here for Rehab, and I have to say, the care and love that staff has provided for my mom has been nothing short of spectacular! Words cannot describe how wonderful and clean this place is. My mom has only said great things about the nursing, and therapy. We were extremely skeptical of the services that she was going to get. But the team really treated my mom as if she were family. From the speech therapy to the nurses on the floor taking care of my mom. They all did a wonderful job! Mom couldn't have been any happier there. They even let my dad visit every day and he was able to eat and spend time with my mom inside her room. The love we felt as soon as we admitted into Cumberland Trace has been a blessing. I'm so glad we choose Cumberland Trace for my mom to do rehab!

I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the unprofessional behavior of one of the nurses MS. SHAYLA who is currently employed at cumberland trace This individual has repeatedly displayed rudeness, a short temper, and an overall lack of professionalism while performing her duties.
In addition to her behavior, there has been a noticeable and consistent odor of marijuana present on her person during work hours, which raises serious concerns about both professionalism and patient safety.
Out of respect for privacy, I do not wish to provide the name of my family member who has directly experienced these issues, as she does not want to be treated differently after any action is taken regarding this matter. However, I felt it was important to bring this to your attention so it can be properly addressed.
I trust that your facility will take the necessary steps to investigate this complaint and ensure that all patients and their families are treated with the highest level of care, respect, and professionalism.
Thank you for your attention to this matter

We would like to thank the staff at Cumberland Trace. The administrators, therapists and nursing staff, especially Ashley S., in Memory Care, were all very supportive, patient and empathetic to our mothers need’s during her stay.
From our move in day in rehab, to our final day in memory care, the staff was attentive, welcoming and friendly. We highly recommend Cumberland Trace for your loved ones needs.

My mother has been a resident at this facility since April 2024, initially on the rehabilitation side and transitioning to long-term care in October 2024. Since that transition, I have grown increasingly concerned about the quality of care she is receiving.
The facility appears to be significantly understaffed, and communication is often difficult due to language barriers with some of the staff. Most concerning is that my mother is routinely left in bed for extended periods—consistently all weekend long as well as consistently every Mondays and Friday. She is only assisted out of bed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, thanks to one nurse who kindly makes the effort to find time for her. All other patients in her wing are up and out of bed in the hallways every day. They find the time for them but not my mom.
There have been repeated instances where her brief is not changed until late in the afternoon, meaning she remains in soiled conditions for most of the day. To this day, she has not received a proper bed bath since transferring to the long-term care unit. She often goes hours without water, and calls for help frequently go unanswered. These are not isolated events—they’re a pattern that reflects a deep lack of attention to her basic needs.
My mother has expressed these concerns herself to staff, but, unfortunately, nothing seems to change. It’s heartbreaking to watch someone who spent her entire life caring for others now be left neglected and voiceless.
During a recent audit by the health department, the staff seemed more concerned with making the facility appear compliant than with actually tending to the residents. It’s painfully clear that many of the nurses are not there out of compassion or commitment to patient care, but simply for a paycheck.
My mother suffers daily from the pain of multiple sclerosis, and the emotional toll of seeing her treated this way is devastating. I wish more than anything that I could move her to a better facility where her dignity and well-being would be prioritized, but at the moment, my hands are tied.
As her daughter, I feel a deep responsibility to advocate for her. She deserves better and I hate that she has to spend the rest of her life being treated this way at this place.
