OLIVE VISTA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER

This is a great divergent program. The patients get mental health classes during the weekdays. Families have supervised visits from 4 to 5pm M-F. On Saturdays and Sundays the visits are from 10a.m to 11:45a.m. You are allowed to bring restaurant food. Beware!! Patients do share their room with other people. Stealing does happen, tell your loved ones not to leave anything unlocked. Patients can only purchase snacks from the Cantin twice a week. 10 dollars in singles can last them up to 2 weeks. Quarters are needed to make phone calls. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This is a great place for someone to get mental help. My son came here on a diversion program and he's a different person. I see a big change in him and I couldn't thank the staff here, they are so kind and make the patients feel important. My son also loves the place and says the food is great. He will miss this place when he steps down.

One of the worst facilities ever to deal with. Their staff is RUDE, NON-COMMUNICATIVE AND INCOMPETENT to common tasks as answering the phones, returning calls and providing patient updates. During Covid I wonder how many positive cases they have had and if that's why they are so evasive when giving out info. Their facility is definitely not the cleanest, visitations pre-Covid were constantly cut short and you felt as if they were watching certain patients only. The nurses that I've actually gotten on the phone do not provide their names and hang up on you. That's if you're not left on hold for 10+ minutes. Program Director Tiffany is of no help & doesn't return calls either unless you threaten to get others involved. Administrative Director Amber Guise (presumed spelling) obviously doesn't do her job either. Please don't send your loved ones here. This type of environment explains why most of their patients are Court ordered here rather than placed by family members. Good luck in keeping your search going.

Olive Vista is one of the most unorganized behavioral health institutes I have encountered so far. I have a loved one there, and have no way or means of moving her unless I bring her home where she would be unsafe. The staff treat the residents like this: Staff is the gang member, client is the victim. It's really horrible. I do not recommend this facility. Today is 4/29/15 at 4:45pm and I spent 15 minutes listening to a ringtone, no one answers the phone at the desk. Where are they? What are they doing?

I was here 6 months it's very depressing. It is lockdown so there is really no freedom. Your probably better off taking county time or atleast take a program that isn't lockdown..... The food is good but i could chew a finger nail and get more calories then from one of there meals.. The dietician is on one.. She gave large portions to somebody considered morbidly obese but refused me large portions even though i lost 40 pounds from not eating enough. I was having suicidal thoughts after a week of being there due to the living conditions... It really was a terrible experience.
