FRIENDSHIP HEALTH CENTER

After reading some reviews, I was a little concerned about putting my 85 year old mother in this facility. Providence sent her there for 2 weeks for rehabilitation. The staff and therapist have been absolutely fantastic. I cannot say enough good things about them. My mother even liked some of the meals they served. Thank you to the staff!

First, let me tell you, most nursing homes that are covered by insurance, are bad. Answers to call lights could literally take hours. Friendship Health Center was just another under staffed nursing home that was nearly unbearable for my 73 year old mother, who is in for a broken ankle. This place keeps running themselves out of HER pain medicine, leaving her in pain. I actually had to provide her with my own personal pain medication from home to help her because this place just doesn’t care. It would take days to refill her prescription. If she had use the restroom, no one would come most of the time, and she had to get up and get herself to the toilet, which they told her not to do. What other choice does she have? Today she was supposed to leave, and now they’re telling her that was a mistake and she has to stay longer. She’s about to just escape! If you can avoid this place, you should.

My grandmother was sent there from Kaiser due to a fall, had some fractures and needed therapy to get stronger. She needed help using the bathroom, every time she would use her call light- nobody came. There was never enough staff present to help her when she needed assistance. They didn’t follow her shower schedule either which is something that cannot be ignored. If you or family can avoid this terrible placement, take my word for it & find a better place for your loved one.

This was like being on a bad episode of 60 minutes. I had torn my right rotator cuff and I'm a paraplegic. So, ya I need my arms to move at all. I was feeling all of it, because this place refused to give me any pain meds for two days. Even though I was transferred from the hospital, with a list of prescriptions and medications. It was a nightmare. Unprofessional staff, patients screaming for assistance, dismissive attitudes towards physical pain. After five days I couldn't take it anymore so my son came and brought me home, torn shoulder and all. Against medical advice. Best decision I ever made. This place should be shut down.

I would recommend Friendship Medical center to everyone. Everyone who works there is a rock star! Their compassion, skill and knowledge is amazing. Not only did they take excellent care of my Mom they worked hand in hand with Hospice to make sure she was comfortable and happy at all times. The care givers, CNA’s and nurses were always available for whatever she needed. I am so grateful. Not only did they take care of my Mom-but they take care of the family too. Tina,Amy,Jamie,Nancy,Xochitl,Chelsea,Timothy I can’t thank you enough. You made the last few months of my Mom’s life special and I am forever grateful. Much love to you all.
