This was our first visit to our long-time friend who moved in the day before. Her room is spacious, nicely furnished, and aesthetically pleasing in decor. The staff is friendly and helpful, according to her daughter. The lift lounge chair is a huge plus. There is seating for our whole family, and the view outside is lovely. Her food looked appetizing, but she may not eat due to her mental condition. Her daughter was confident that adjusting the food for more likely consumption is doable.
This place shouldn't even get a star in my opinion. When I went to visit my family member last night and we walked in and her bed had a thin sheet on it and a very very thin throw blanket on it. No bedspread no thermal blanket just a little throw blanket. My family member gets extremely cold most of the time. And when I went to ask a cna for a bedspread she had a attitude about it and roughly hands it to me with saying u can put it on we are busy. Mind u at least 3 cnas are standing around on their phones. This completely unexpectable and I will not put up with this. They didn't even have the proper sling under her for them to use the hoyer lifting her. When she is discharged she will never be going there ever again.
As a long-term resident here, I find the care substandard. You can hit your call light and depending on the time of day it can take well over an hour for them to respond. There are some very good CNA’s here, but there are some very bad ones as well For example they leave your breakfast tray in your room and then don’t set you up to eat it. Right now my call light has been on for well over an hour and what I needed wouldn’t have taken but a few minutes, but it won’t be handled for another half an hour. I am in pain and this does not help at all. I remember when I had a friend here years ago, and the car was very good. It is no longer the same place.
As home-like as possible for skilled care. Staff is warm and caring as well as skilled. Entry is easy for guests and there are places to sit in the room, not a given everywhere.
The staff caring for my 94 year old mother who was bed-ridden told her she put her call light on too many times and they weren't coming to help her anymore and ignored her and didn't help her again. I didn't know that at the time. Another time she called me on her cell phone because she had her call light on for help for hours and nobody came to help her and I called and pushed every option trying to reach a staff member but could not reach anyone. This was at night. I was going to go down there and knock on the windows where the staff sat to get my mother some help. Finally someone came in after many hours of waiting. I reported this the next day to a woman in charge but didn't know about the aids telling my Mom to her face that they were done coming to help her the other time! Never, never, never put your loved one there!!
