This place is terrible. Do NOT take your loved one there. They are liars and don’t even have real nurses, just staff in scrubs. Pick any place but this one. They do not care once they get your loved one there. They were great and easy to deal with when it came to getting us there. They are understaffed very badly and they should be closed down. Community shower none in rooms and they don’t check on patient for hours on end. Some of the nicest liars I have ever dealt with. Don’t go here!

My Mother iN Law is currently in their memory care facility. It is the locked side . It is usually clean and the staff seams to be pretty friendly and a few nurses seem to really love the patients. However, we have been disappointed in the area of activities for memory care. Their isn't anything available! No books, games, puzzle, library , movement , garden . An activity calendar is posted but they do not follow it. It is just "!/suggested activities". They do not have visitors like choirs, musicians , pet therapy. They do have an activities director and they have begun activities during the day. As far as religion, they have communion but are not able to go to mass/ service that occurs on the other side due to limited staff. Another complaint is her clothes are always missing and sometimes she can't find undergarments to wear. As far as hygiene , her dentures are dirty and her breath is bad. I can never find her denture case or cleaning solution, tooth brush. She does get a shower/ bath at least 2-3 times a week. The food seems ok with sometimes yummy entrees, desserts. She is still a person who enjoys painting, coloring, working, planting, playing games, interacting and being in a clean , beautiful environment. Spending 8 or more hours walking/ pacing or laying in bed is not full living. She deserves the dignity of having clean clothes, clean teeth! After speaking to them, they are working on activities. They say her teeth get clean daily. The clothes may always be a problem. They have assured me that they are working on current issues.

My mother has been a patient there for a month. Her experience has been terrible. They do not have a doctor that is on staff and if one comes it is only a couple of times a week and just because they come doesn't mean that your loved one will be able to see the doctor. The nurses are terrible my husband and I witnessed one nurse yelling at a patient and told him to shut up and quit calling for a nurse and them closed his door. We did report this incident to the director and I think the nurse was let go. Patients can hit their call button but the nurses take their sweet time in getting to the room. They are very rude not just to the patient but to the family. I had one that told me to go ahead and report her she didn't care and that is the attitude of the ones I have dealt with. My mother is of sound mind and they treat her like she has dementia which makes her very angry. They do not have enough staff to take care of the patients so that is part of the problem. Do not fall for the marketing they use about being a family minded care facility. One night my mother got tired of waiting for the nurses to come and help her to the restroom so she tried to do it on her own and she fell. She is in their because she had fallen and broke several ribs. They do not bring the meds when she asks for them and if you call to talk to the nurse on duty they will not answer the page. I have seen them up at the nurse's station ignoring the call buttons and they are up there just chit chatting with each other. Do not send your loved one to this care facility. We are taking my mother out of there tomorrow. We have been lied to so many times by the staff I can only imagine what is going on when we are not there.

If you have a very sick family member and needs a lot of attention avoid this place. While the therapy department is good, the organization of the nursing left a lot to be desired. My husband did not receive his medication the first night he was there. My husband was brought in to the facility at 1:30pm at 10pm almost 11pm in the evening he had not received any of his medications. One of which was to prevent seizures. There where two different shifts of nurses, neither shift did anything about my husband’s medication. On the weekends the facility smells of excrement. The bathrooms only get cleaned once a day. I had to ask the maid to clean my husbands bathroom and she argued with me about it. There is only one shower per wing. When it was my husbands turn in the shower, I was given the cleaning materials and told to clean it myself because there was no one around to do the job.

I was my elderly brother's legal guardian for 3 years due to his Alzheimer's. As his condition evolved I placed him in four facilities. The best facility of the four was Regent Care of Oakwell Farms. I wish the other three facilities had been this good. They didn't come close. From the moment I walked in the door Lottie, the receptionist, greeted me like we were old friends. Heidi, the marketing director, introduced me to the facility. She made the process a pleasure if you can imagine that. My brother was very well taken care of. I visited daily and he and his surroundings were always clean and tidy. All of the employees were consistently friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Regent Care Oakwell Farms.
