Sharon Lane is where healthcare professionals in Kansas City send their families members. Skilled or Long Term Care- Sharon Lane is a top notch facility with excellent care. Personally, if a loved one needs care, I recommend Sharon Lane.

My sister had a terrible experience at this facility. Bad food. Waited for an hour for assistance after ringing her call button. She became septic and they said they were “working on it”.

Our mother spent approximately 6 months at this facility. They seemed to use medicating as a way to control residents and started giving our mother something to make her sleep about 20 hours a day without telling anyone in the family. Many of the aides that worked there were very wonderful and caring and took good care of our mother. The activities group was also very good and proactive. The kitchen staff was also great and very caring with the residents; they also provided very good meals. However, some of the staff were rude and not helpful at all, especially those in management. One of the therapists hung up on us when we called to get a status on our mother. We did not find the nursing staff management to be communicative or particularly knowledgeable.

As a hospice provider I visit many facilities in KS and Sharon Lane is one of the best! The staff are very attentive to their residents. The facility always has fun activities going on that also invite family participation.

We placed my mother here after a hospital visit. She was at Sharon Lane for a month and ended up back in the hospital. We told Sharon Lane we were concerned she may have gallstones (based on history) and the nurse completely dismissed it. Guess what? Our mother has kidney stones - very painful and did Sharon Lane care? Some of the staff is great, but the business office (admissions, assistant director of nursing) is terrible. My mother’s hallway smelled of urine most of the time. Many times I saw people slumped over tables with their heads on the table. Sharon Lane participates in illegal HOSPITAL DUMPING and did this to our mother. Our mother was taken to the hospital on a Sat. My sister was with her and asked that our mother’s bed be held. The nurse assumed it would be held (we don’t believe it was her fault it wasn’t). The cowards at Sharon Lane called the hospital the following Monday to say my mother’s bed had been given away. My sister and I have left several messages to discover they did this and to get her missing belongings. None of the cowards will return our calls. I told Sharon Lane on 3 occasions and notice is provided in the admission paperwork that we are doing our mother’s laundry. She has pieces of clothing missing (no one else wears the same size) and was given clothing that wasn’t hers. They knew our intention with our mother was short term care and we believe they are only interested in long term patients. They (Denise, admissions & Jennifer, asst director of nursing) put on a great act about how caring they are and all they offer. Be warned, it’s an act! Don’t place your loved ones in this facility.
