My mother spent time in Rehabilitation and later 2 years in the Long Term Care area. My GP and several friends had recommended Greenwood House. The doctors, specifically Dr. Kevin McGuigan (Medical Director for Rehabilitation) provided amazing care and listened to all our concerns during her Rehab stage. The nurses and CNAs were attentive and very kind to my Mom and family members. Activity team specifically Jean Stroud, former Activities Director worked well with her staff and residents to provide an array of fun and educational events. So many staff members - Cleaning, Maintenance, Laundry, Cafeteria, Nutrition, Receptionists & PT - made my Mom and I feel like family. Just some of my thoughts - Management staff could be more visible during the day to residents & family. I learned more about them through their quarterly Publication. During the quick transition from Rehab to LTC, GWH Social Services could have been more empathetic to our family's intense new situation by discussing LTC options. If interested in Medicaid, the facility does not work with you to complete the application. Best to work with a 3rd party as this process can be daunting. Regardless, you will have a lot of work to do on your own related to financial records.

Since September of 2024, our mom, Ann, has had the pleasure of being a resident at the Abrams Apartments (Greenwood House) in Ewing, New Jersey. After a brief stay at another assisted living facility, and after doing much research, my sisters and I decided that Abrams Apartments was the right choice for mom. Countless friends had told us how wonderful their own experiences were. And boy were they all right. From the first day, she was welcomed by every resident and every associate. The transition was so well handled by David and Andrea that we were truly astonished. They made us all feel like family…. and to this day, that has been the case. The associates who help with some routine tasks for our mom, like laundry, meals, showering and games, are all wonderful people. Wonderful. We can’t possibly say enough about them all. It is now over a year that mom has been living at Abrams. Every time I ask her how she feels about her experience there, her words are the same… “ I love it here and everyone is so nice.” What more could we possibly ask for. Thank you, Abrams Apartments.! Thank you so much. With great appreciation, Lorraine, Carolyn and Robert

The staff at Greenwood House are the best I have ever seen! They bathed my mom every morning, they were attentive and helpful. Trish O’Brien, Marie Benjamin, Claire Monaghan, the therapists, the fabulous nurses and caring CNAs were exceptional! I highly recommend this rehab to care for your loved ones! Even the young lady from the agency who was my mom’s companion was extremely supportive and helpful.

Greenwood House is a good choice if you have to rehab a knee, or hip etc. At first I thought they were great, but an aide left my family member in the bathroom alone and he fell. The next day, I told them he seemed confused. They said no he didn't. The following day, they took him for a cat scan to the hospital and didn't tell me. I found out when I got there to Greenwood House. The nurse at the hospital said they should have done it right away. I heard from a patient he fell a second time. I saw a large bandage on his elbow and peeked under. A large patch of skin was missing. I told the nurse, who wouldn't answer me if he fell or not, "he did fall". His response "now I have to redo the bandage because you touched it". What?? On our last day, I again asked them to look at his ankles, they were swollen. I told them that's a sign of CHF which he has. The doctor said no, a lot of people have that there it was from not walking much and from the "poor food they serve, no protein" etc. I got him to the er and it was a CHF flare up and pneumonia. At Greenwood House when you press the call bell, someone comes. Never saw that before. Many of the nurses and aides are helpful and nice. "Preferred" Care, which is horrifying, is around the corner. Greenwood House is better. I offered to talk to the director to tell him what he could do to make the place even better because I thought it was great when I first got there. He never wanted to. No diabetic meals are provided like most "rehabs". Bring your own food. And the staff needs to communicate much more. A head nurse called me while he was in the hospital, no one had told her he was gone. She wasn't happy.

My mother was in that place for three weeks it was horrible. She ended up getting a UTI.From never being changed properly, she fell out of bed and they tried to hide lt by not telling us. And because we spoke up for my mother , and had her taken to the hospital because of fall the did not like that they so they wouldn't take her back , which i'm glad of it because this place is not fit for a dog. far as the staff goes, the staff is horrible. The doctors don't know what they're doing there, either. The food is terrible the nurses are terrible also ,Care there is not even a one star. IF YOU SEND YOUR LOVE ONES THERE BE AWARE. BOARD OF HEALTH NEEDS TO BE CALLED.
