My Dad went to River Trace for Physical Therapy due to a broken hip. He was there for 9 days, and he fell again breaking his other hip! River Trace waited 13 hours before calling EMS to carry my Dad to the ER. They NEVER called me to tell me that he was being sent to the ER. I found out when I got a notification from MyChart! I took my dad a plate of food on a Monday, and the same plate of food was still in his room 6 days later. His clothes were lost/stolen, his snacks were stolen by the staff, and his glasses are missing. I took my dad home because he was going downhill in that dump! I have called numerous times to resolve the issue about his glasses, and nobody ever calls me back! The Physical Therapist there are great, everyone else is there for a paycheck! This place is a damn joke! DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS THERE!!! They will be in worse shape when they come out than when they went in!

RT was recommended to us and I was planning to give a good review but after my mom passes I received an unexpected bill. I tried to call to resolve but the consistent phone problems and lack of voice mail have made it nearly impossible to speak to someone when I attempted to call. They made a change in treatment that switched my mom from MEDICAD to private pay without notifing me and when I picked up her personal possessions I was told we were square. Communications are a huge issue. If there is no voice mail the phone should not ring indefinitely of simple get disconnected. The extension should have a recording or ring back to the attendant. I still need to get this resolved and this might stimulate contact.

I have visited several family members and friends of the family there over the past few years. About a year or two ago the place was a living nightmare. Roaches, mice, staff didn’t care about their jobs just their checks and their work ethic showed it. I’ve recently been back and it’s a different feel and more welcoming. They are currently in the process of remodeling the place yet it still feel more welcoming then before. They have a very active administration team and the schedule always seems to be fully staffed. The residents appearance shows the changes that are happening. I understand some people have had bad experiences but honestly being visited over the past few years I’d say they are doing an excellent job compared to what I’ve witnessed there before.

The staff has consistently demonstrated genuine concern for my mother-in-law and has been eager to problem solve when addressing issues such as my mother-in-law’s nutritional needs and lack of appetite. Staff has done everything humanly possible to prevent falls and to encourage her overall health. The DON, assistant DON, and unit managers have listened to my concerns and generously offered compassionate and practical solutions. Trudy walked us through the financial quagmire of admission with expertise and empathy. With very few exceptions in terms of staff, we highly recommend River Trace’s determination to embrace excellence!!

This place is disgusting, broken call bells, door knobs missing, rats, roaches, mice and BED BUGS that they refuse to acknowledge in higher management. If the CNAs seem upset and hate their jobs it’s due to someone higher up not investing the money to get this place right. It needs a remodel, new equipment and training etc etc. 11 years as a CNA and no issues till this place. Now we have bed bugs and we have to pay 1000$ to get rid of them and we have a son. I cannot begin to say how frustrated I am with this place and am seeking legal counsel. Great patients and cnas and nurses but management ran this place in the ground. It’s reputation precedes itself. STAY AWAY. And the turnover is insane, just look at other reviews, and the staff quit because if they speak up it’s likely they will be retaliated against. Not sure. Just quit. They should also be covering the cost of the bed big issue. They don’t even have proper PPE gear for bed bugs. This place destroyed our home just walking in.
