SOUTH KINGSTOWN NURSING AND REHAB CTR

Choosing a nursing home for a family member who is no longer able to live at home is extremely stressful and emotional for the responsible family members. My stepfather is a resident at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehab. The administrative staff lead by Cheryl has made us feel like this is a home. They answer our questions and update us on my stepfather's health, issues and direction of care whenever we ask. The nurses are wonderful and knowledgeable. The CNA's are like friends to my stepfather. They care for him but will also stop into his room and chat with him. They help him to organize his room and keep it clean with a made bed daily. The food is homemade and delicious. There is always something for the residents to participate in including seasonal fun, birthdays, bingo, live singers, arts and crafts and various group activities. The physical therapy department works with him every day to keep him strong and walking. We are extremely happy with the care and positive family feel at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehab. I would highly recommend them.

The activities that South Kingstown Rehab has for their residents are incredible! Fishing at the local pond, family celebrations, so many outdoor adventures to sunflower fields, campfires with s'mores, music on the lawn .. The administration and employees really bond with their residents and truly care about them... it is a joy to walk into this home and see the smiling faces of staff and residents! I would highly recommend entrusting your family member to their care!

It took me a year to come to terms with the reality that mom needed the care of a nursing facility. Someone recommended SKNH to me and I must admit it has a great "fit" for mom. She resides on Laurel Lane and her care is excellent. Her medical needs are met and the family receives quarterly updates on her progress. The food is delicious and mom is eating foods she actually refused eat in the past. The CNAs take care of her and will frequently stop by to sit and chat with her. Her room is always kept need and clean. The nursing staff ensure her well-being on a daily basis. There are daily activities, weekly singers and seasonal happenings; all to make the residents and families feel at home. Mom has acclimated well to her new residence and is thriving. I will and have recommended SKNH to people I know.

The smiles speak for themselves! If you look at the Facebook page of SKNR, you can see how happy the residents and staff are. The staff are collaborative and want to do what is best for the residents. The residents are happy and well cared for. I have referred this home to many for short term and long term care and will continue to do so. The leadership in the home are down to earth and truly care about the whats best for the residents. They are knowledgeable and clinically sound. 5/5 stars to SKNR!

My Mother passed away in this facility 6 weeks ago and I have waited to write a review . The Management of this nursing home is unprofessional, when confronted they are loud and rude and do not react well to constructive criticism which results in conflict and hard feelings. Management does not seem to understand that you are trying to look out for someone you love in this case my Mother.The way the facility is managed I don't believe anyone in charge has compassion. Fortunately there were a couple of staff members that treated my Mother like a person when they had the time. You can have good people but when a facility is being mismanaged it shows. One day they moved my Mother into the corner of a room, placed between a large chair and a bed with no TV, no view of any kind and crying, this is how I found her. I questioned the nurse to why she was here and the nurse did not know. The Management came in very defensive knowing they did wrong but wouldn't admit to it. Instead of solving the problem they were belligerent and accused me on being overexcited and again this is my Mother. ! The housekeeping was very poor it seemed they did things weekly not daily including floors , countertops , and sinks. In closing , obviously I cannot recommend this facility and if you have a loved one there, check on them daily.
