My son was only there under 8 weeks. I was his caretaker for the last few years . He had dementia , was legally blind, type 1 diabetes and other neurological issues. I ensured he was fed properly at home watching his blood surger and took good care of him . It broke me when he went into this place. I spoke with his nurse on the first day he went in about his diet needs . I found out he was fed French toast for breakfast, he shouldn't have had . Rice and other high carbs at other meals. Thank God I was able to speak to someone from hospis and they were able to take his case . Hospis was wonderful and the only saving grace til he died . They cared for him , and stayed in touch with me . The week before he passed he was sick with double pneumonia . His regular nurse wasn't there one night and his phone had broken. He wanted to call me and his stand in nurse allowed him to use her phone he was still talking and she was trying to take the phone away from him . I heard him yelling ," I'm talking, no , get the H away I'm talking. " . Now remember he was a dementia patient. He didn't understand. I heard her yelling at him, saying it's my phone , your not going to yell and curse on my phone. It was very upsetting to hear this .I being his mother and taking care of him and knowing you can't yell back at a dementia patient, and he was sick,. I called back to speak to someone at the desk to make sure he was okay , unfortunately they gave the phone to the nurse who was very nasty to me put my poor son back on the phone . I ask to speak with the nurse, he called out to her , very nicely " Debbie my mom wants to speak to you . She yelled out No I can't talk. I just wanted to tell her I didn't want to offend her I was just trying to explain my son's reaction. He passed August 11th. I miss him and wish I had help at home , and could have kept him there . That night plays over and over again in my mind . I am tormented by his stay there. Again thank God for his Hospis team who was looking out for him . In hindsight he should have never been there. He was only 44 years old and most places won't take someone so young . You may have more options, take them .

My sister Gloria came here after being in the hospital. We were worried at first but after couple of days stay and met the staff, we felt at ease. They were all very helpful and always there for her, very friendly and wonderful. To mention some of the staff like Debbie, Scott, Bill, Barbara, Pam and others who she cannot remember the names. She said they were all very caring, very hard workers. She is very thankful to the CNA who gave her a shower, she cannot remember the name. She was very satisfied with the meals served at the Rehab. With regards to the Business Office Staff, I can say they were very approachable, coordinated and willing to help the family to ease with the paper works necessary. To mention the staff, we met like Marsha, Linda, Kristin. I will recommend West Melbourne Health and Rehabilitation Center to anybody who needs the services you offer. Thank you for everything you have done to my sister.

The CNA's and nurses are so attentive. The ones standing out are Sandy, Marie and Alexis. They always went the extra mile. The first night after coming from "Palm Bay, nightmare of a Hospital", I was starving. Marie brought me a pband j sandwich , ice cream and Graham crackers. I didn't even have to ask. Sandy always had my hot coffee ready in the am. Alexis made clear it was her job to take good care of me. All the nurses are attentive and the therapy staff do their best to get u well. Janice. The kitchen manager came to visit me 3 times. She wanted to know if I was happy with the food and if I had any special requests. All and all. I'm very happy with my stay here. Oh... this is Sharon Webb in room C29 A xoxo

Me: Sheri RN / C-wing unit manager 😊 His nurses: Debbie Jigi Scott Heidi Jason Bill His CNA’s: LaQuencia Sandy Marie Miranda Iberta I first wanna start off by saying thank you for taking care of my father the way you did he was there a month and at that time he looked good he was always clean. The facility was clean. He met some friends along the way. I would recommend this facility to anyone that’s needing to put a loved one in a rehab or for health reasons. He is part of you family now! Your going to miss him soooo much!!! If for some reason or any reason he needs to go back to a facility, you guys are the place. I will bring him. I highly recommend this facility to anyone searching for a caring and loving place. The staff was unbelievably friendly and was at my dad‘s every need. Any time I needed answers to questions whether it was case managers or administrator I got a call back in a timely manner and resolved my issues. Thank you again for that and closing. I am highly recommending this facility for your loved one. Thank you to everyone there in the staff for going above and beyond for my father. I mean that from my heart, you guys are the best.
