The visit was pleasant but the smell in the facility can be improved. It was clean, the problem was the strong urine premating in the hall and foyer areas. I did not go into the room where the patient was assigned. We worshipped in the Community room.

The Darcy Hall experience has been overall remarkable. Everyone is friendly and responsive. The PT team and the nurses really take the time to understand and work with each patient. And incredible as it may seem, the food is over the top delicious. At every meal.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire team at DC Nursing Home for the excellent care they provide to my father. Every interaction I have had with the staff has reflected kindness, patience, and genuine compassion. It brings me great peace of mind to know that he is surrounded by people who treat him with dignity and respect. Thank you for the attention, consistency, and love you bring to your work every day.
I went to visit my grandmother brother a year ago and because I ended up moving out of state, I recently got a picture of him. He looks distressed and fragile. It’s disheartening that the elderly is treated so poorly & just forgotten. To me nursing homes are toxic environments where the people who work there are only there for a paycheck. They genuinely don’t have any compassion. I’m sorry that possibly the good nursing homes get a bad reputation because of the ones that aren’t good. But for the most part any nursing home I’ve been in the residents look distressed & lonely. So sad that this is how our seniors are treated. Just disregarded & unloved. I wish they were monitored more by adult protective services.
The ladies at the front desk at letting you in, are very nice and easy to talk to. The staff, all managers, Social Workers, are great!!!! They take the time to really listen to you, and that helps a lot. It’s clean, but so sad that the rooms are sssoooo small, to small, to cram two men, into a tiny room, very sad. The smell is better, maybe because they are remodeling the place. I can’t tell you about the nurses or CNA’s, I’ve heard they are just ok. Things go missing, and they take their time in finding the things that have gone missing. It’s just to bad the Managers weren’t around at night and weekends, because that’s when the workers go slack in their jobs and with the people that stay there. I just pray for Jesus to come and take us all home, then there would be no more of those places😞
