This place looks nice after their remodel but I would never put my loved one in Cadence of Aurora had I known how their staff ignored and neglected my cousin. She called many times for help screaming in pain from back spasms. She was asking for her medications or help to the restroom. She was in constant pain while there. They must have cut back on staff members because there was only ONE staff member on duty for three buildings. . After moving to Cadence of Aurora just two and a half weeks before, my cousin pushed her call button because she was experiencing shortness- of-breath. She push the call button 9 more times over an hour without response. She eventually had to call the paramedics herself to be taken to the hospital where she needed open heart surgery. From these pictures you can see that the halls are empty, craft area is empty and snack room empty, in fact my cousin was the only occupant of building #2. The staff left her there alone for long periods of time. Staff director, Jennifer Harrington, defended her staff nurse and said my cousin would have to pay an extra month after paying for rent $2950. Care,$850 and a community care fee of $3000. Even though we are moving my cousins five bags of possessions out after 2 1/2 weeks of actual residency, and before thirty days. Jennifer says she has to pay another months rent because my cousin had to give give 30 days notice. The food was terrible and my cousin never got what she requested from the menu. Every meal was delivered cold. That is neglect of care. I hope this review helps other potential residence to avoid Cadence of Aurora. They are so critically under staffed to help patients when they really need it. .
We recently moved my mother to Cadence Aurora. In just a few weeks we can already see how her quality of life has improved. She’s eating better, has help with her medications, is moving more, and making new friends. Because she is stronger physically, she’s walking with more confidence. She’s happy and content with her new home. In every way - physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially - her life has improved. We are very thankful to have found this facility for her.
Communication between staff and families is almost non-existent, unless you force it by calling everyday. I only found out about my mom's emergency trip to the hospital via a bill from the ambulance company six months after the fact! Cadence never informed me at the time. When I go to visit, she's almost always wearing the same clothes from the last visit, despite the fact they are supposed to change her clothes daily. On the last visit discovered a large infected wound on her toe that had clearly been an issue for some time, but hadn't been noticed because they hadn't changed her socks in weeks. Individual employees try thier best, but with seven different new directors in as many months and turnover so great that there is only one or two recognizable staff from six-months ago means they are probably treating their employees as bad as they treat residents. I would avoid this place if you have other options, unless you are prepared to micro-manage every part of the care if you don't want your loved one to be neglected.
Such a beautiful and great community! Really gives you that at home feeling. It’s a home away from home and the residents are so welcoming. They love to visit , socialize and be a family. Plus the company is has policies and procedures in place that put the residents first every single day.
Great facility, with excellent communication. The staff goes above and beyond for everyone. Would recommend for short and long term services. The way they have handle the Corona virus situation has been outstanding, and thank them for their cleanliness and proper precautions.
