Brookdale Woodard Estates

My father was a resident at Brookdale in Bowie, MD for just shy of a year before he passed. Our experience with Brookdale was horrible almost from the day we moved our father in. The leadership team at Brookdale is lacking in so many areas. The nursing staff do not know how to communicate and a lot of them barely speak English. There were a handful of nurses and techs that were great but 90% of that staff were terrible! They are very slow at responding to pendants when a resident needs help. The building is old and needs constant maintenance and maintenance issues are often times ignored. Corporate is weak as well. They come up with excuse after excuse after excuse! A family has to have a big mouth to get the services they say that they provide. All they care about is making money! PLEASE do your homework before placing your loved one in this facility. I have nothing good to say about Brookdale and would never, ever recommend anyone to go to Brookdale in Bowie, MD. I gave them one star because there is not an option to give zero stars.

The staff is nice but not quick to respond to patient's needs. My Mom needs help dressing in the morning and very often they come extremely early or very late. The food system has changed, and they don't have a large menu for my mom to read. (decreased vision) I think it appears the organization is short staffed.

My father and god-mother are both residents of Brookdale Woodland Estates! This location has been wonderful for my family. The staff are great and during this past year with COVID, they kept my loved ones safe. You must check this place out. I’ve referred several families to this place. Both of my folks are thriving in this place.

NIcola and the team at Brookdale have been great to work with! I had a short turn around time in getting my dad moved from his current facility to another and the team moved quickly. They have been extremely caring and helpful through this process. I would recommend Brookdale Woodward for your loved one.

My very best friend, who is a senior, age 100, has resided at Brookdale for seven years. She has been very happy there and they provide a harmonious living environment with activities, healthy food and kind staffers. The new Director, Joey Estrella, has made sure residents are safe during the pandemic. Thank you!!
