This place is a joke. Not only for the residents, but also the employees here. After 6 months, I get terminated because I missed a few days of work. All medical reasons. The head curator is a joke, as is the front office manager. They are rude, and selfish and don't care about anybody but themselves. Unless its time for some fun activities, then they drop everything to go throw a beach ball around. I had to miss work for 4 days because I had a abdominal wall tear, and was put of an opioid. They wanted me to come into work, in the kitchen cooking dinner for all the residents, doped up on drugs and in incredible pain. The kitchen managers are just as bad. Not to mention how many times this place has had residents with COVID. Just this week alone there are 8 residents, if not more. SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY! DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE!!!
My mother lives at 5 star! The staff are great. The ED is less than impressive. These Seniors get poor quality food and a terrible menu each meal. My mom and her friends here have complained, started a food committee and it’s only gotten worse. As of yesterday, they have all lost weight, feel unheard and wondering if they should move. No improvement in over a year. The Executive Director has welcomed them to move “if they don’t like the food”. Five Star does not care about these seniors nor do they care the ED is terrible. Don’t choose this place if for your loved one. The food, cook, menu, company and ED are terrible. Calling the Ombudsman as this is these seniors last option to try and receive change. This is not just 1 or 2 residents this is more than half the residents in IL. I visit during meal time and also review the menu. It’s down right abuse.
Dayton Place is the place to be! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a genuine sense of care from the entire staff. The Executive Director sets the tone that we will be treated with respect , and the team goes above and beyond every single day to ensure residents feel supported, and safe.
Always helpful and supper nice staff. Always friendly and asking how they can help. Management is helpful and engaging. Always a pleasure to work with Melissa in VTR. Congratulations on your new job you will rock at it. The DON Haluku is carrying and compassionate about her job and the residents she cares for. Sneha is always helpful courteous, respectful and considerate of people's needs.
My grandma lived here for most 2 years in assisted living and had a good experience. Melissa and Haliku were always very helpful and would work with her or myself to get anything that came up resolved. Overall the experience here was positive. My grandmother loved her friends, loved the staff and was grateful to everyone who contributed to making it a more enriching space for the residents.
