Sunrise of Dix Hills

Sunrise Senior Living-Dix Hills was a great experience for our Mom and family. Sunrise is housed in a pretty, Victorian-style building that is well-appointed, clean and well maintained. It has a big wrap around porch in the front which is great for family visits and has lovely grounds and a nice garden in the back. The staff is terrific. From the care managers to the nursing staff and activities directors, they’re knowledgeable, kind, and great at communicating with families. Our Mom enjoyed participating in many of the activities and programs available for residents including arts and crafts, games, and music programs. One of our Mom’s favorite programs was reading to the kids at the nearby elementary school. Sunrise is pet friendly. That allowed us to bring our two Golden Retrievers to visit my Mom, which she loved. There were always good meals and healthy snacks being served and sometimes there were cookies and cakes being baked in the kitchen. Mom is gone now, but we will always be so grateful for the lovely facility and wonderful care and attention she enjoyed at Sunrise-Dix Hills.

My husband has been a resident at memory care of Sunrise @Dix Hills since June 2024. We are very thankful for the care my husband is getting under Robin, the coordinator, overseeing the daily operation with same consistent caring staffs that my husband is getting. Few people I like to send big thanks to: Iwona who takes care of his morning routine including shampoo and shower which is not an easy task for somebody who has dementia and emphysema. Another big thanks to Rosa who extends extra help with caring, warmth, kindness and compassion that makes my husband feels she is part of the family and he can trust and depend on. Ida, who fills in whenever the regular helps not available, is also very kind and understanding. Overall, I only have appreciation to all the staffs. Good job well done!

Very happy and relieved to have my sis in the capable caring community of Sunrise Dix Hills. Such a wonderful group of caring people. Christina is a dynamic team member as well as Robin and the whole team just makes this place a home run! Rosaria is so sweet and helpful too. The appearance is impressive and very well kept.

A family member has resided at the Sunrise Dix Hills Reminiscence memory care unit for three years. She has thrived in this caring environment with the untiring help and individualized attention of a consistently friendly, highly professional staff. Special accolades to Robin, the care manager; Deanna, Geri, Nancy and their associates in Nursing; and Anthony who oversees a top-notch dining experience. Steven, the Executive Director, holds the facility to the highest standards, ranging from immaculate interior space, manicured outdoor grounds, and many imaginative and well-planned activities to keep residents engaged and in good spirits. When situations have arisen that need special attention, as can happen with anyone needing memory care, Steven and the Sunrise staff have taken a hands-on approach as if it were their own family member. That's as good as one could ask for.

My father was recently moved to Sunrise of Dix Hills memory care unit after a fall. I can't say enough positive things about the staff, facility and quality of care. Robyn was tremendously helpful to us. She has a perfect blend of honesty and humor. She was also 100% available to help us with anything that we needed. The rest of the staff is just so loving with all of the residents. Wilson tucked my dad in at night, and Zelden was a wonderful, caring, attentive nurse. I am deeply grateful that my father spent the last days of his life here.
