Arden Courts of Old Orchard

Arden Courts of Old Orchard is a licensed assisted living facility located in Easton, Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Assisted Living Facilities (also known as Assisted Living Residences) provide housing with personal care services.

Services typically include assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, eating), medication management, meals, housekeeping, laundry, social and recreational activities, transportation, and 24-hour staff availability. Some facilities offer specialized memory care.

Who We Serve: Assisted Living Facilities serve older adults and people with disabilities who need help with daily activities but do not require the 24-hour skilled nursing care provided in nursing homes.

Licensing: Typically licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

Payment Options: In Pennsylvania, Medicaid may help pay for assisted living through the Community HealthChoices. Eligibility is based on both financial and functional criteria. Contact Pennsylvania Department of Human Services or visit https://www.dhs.pa.gov/Services/Assistance/Pages/Medicaid-LTSS.aspx to learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply. Wait lists are common for waiver programs, so applying early is recommended.

Families researching assisted living options should verify the facility's current license status, review any inspection reports, and schedule a visit to assess whether the environment and services meet their loved one's needs. For more information about assisted living regulations in Pennsylvania, visit Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

When a loved one suffers from dementia, it can seem overwhelming. You become unable to care for them at home, but you worry about the quality of care they will receive in a facility. This was the dilemma my sister and I struggled with before we found Arden Courts. Our 91 year old mother suffered from severe dementia and was struggling greatly at another highly-rated dementia facility. (Fellowship Manor) While at Fellowship, she was agitated and aggressive. Their solution was to give her more and more meds rather than to address the cause of the aggression. (Our mom simply wanted the freedom to walk around and didn’t want to be forced to sit in a wheelchair all day.) From the moment we stepped into Arden Courts, it was clear that they handle dementia differently. Your loved one–and you–are treated like family. You are treated with respect. They understood my mom’s needs and provided a supervised–and safe–environment for her to meander around with her walker. Magically, ALL her agitation and aggression were immediately gone. She seemed at peace. The heavy meds the other facility put her on to calm her were significantly reduced. We visited our mom every day and saw how the staff interacted with residents. There is no one size fits all in dealing with this horrible disease. It affects people differently. It is clear that Arden staff understands this. They handle each resident a little differently to address their specific needs. Each day when we left, we didn’t worry because we knew she was in a safe and truly caring environment. Sadly, we recently lost our mom. After she passed, the staff hugged and cried right along with us. What we learned through our mom’s illness is that a fancy lobby or fantastic amenities at a dementia facility don’t matter. What matters is that staff is well-trained in how to handle the illness, that they treat your loved one and you with respect, that they communicate openly and easily with you—and that they actually care. Arden Courts checks off all those boxes. I hope this review helps others.

Arden Courts is by far an expert in the field of memory care. My father was a resident and the nurturing staff made us truly feel like family. From the moment I walked in the door Krista always greeted me with a smile, never too busy to ask questions and always helpful. The attitude of the staff was a true reflection of the care we received. The director, nurses, med techs, aids, activity personnel and maintenance always displayed their interest and caring in my dad's well being. What I learned through this process, as Arden Courts was not our first stop, is that when seeking a memory care facility pay close attention to the way the staff treats the residents. Arden Courts excels in this area. It is more than that though, the setup is condusive to making the environment comfortable. The residents are divided into wings giving the assigned staff a way to always be available for the residents needs and familiar to the resident as that connection is also very important. My dad passed away at almost 94 years old and I couldn't have asked for more from the Arden Courts family in his final months. I believe they are successful caregivers because they are well managed, kudos to Jocelyn, and train their teams accordingly. I would love to name them all but this review is probably already too long. The entire building is dedicated to memory care which, in my experience, is critical to proper resident attention, I highly recommend this facilty. A huge thank you to my new found family at Arden Courts! ❤️

Arden Courts of Old Orchard is a great community. The set up for the residents is amazing. They are able to experience a great community filled with great people. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming. From the receptionist, the nursing staff, executive director, activities, admissions, to everyone in between. The residents here are well taken care of. They are truly a great team/family.

Over twenty years ago I had my first experience with Arden Courts as I placed my father there after being diagnosed with dementia. This year I had no question regarding where to place my cousin as he began showing signs of dementia. This place is safe, secure, nicely maintained and well staffed with caring and kind and knowledgeable people. It starts with the administrator and that positive vibe filters down through every employee. I’m happy that I chose this location.

Arden Courts Old Orchard is a wonderful all memory care facility. My mother has been there for a year and is doing wonderful, despite the dementia. It is a smaller facility, which is a plus, especially when it comes to the care giver to resident ratio. Jasalynn, the SED, the management, Betsy and the nursing team, care givers, front desk, the activities director, maintenance, housekeeping, and food service, hairdresser and the entire staff and everyone I didn't mention, are all wonderful and caring individuals. The activities director, Mary Altema, is outstanding. My mother and the residents are never bored. Mary plans wonderful in- house activities , snacks and also brings in live entertainment, which the residents and their families enjoy! We all sing along and even dance; it's so much fun! She also plans special holiday events for the residents and their families, which we all enjoy as well. She also plans wonderful off site outings for some of the residents to actually get out and engage in the community and in "life" again. The activities are so very important, because its our loved ones everyday life. She often helps out in other areas of the facility, as needed. I can see that Mary is very compassionate about her job, and she does it well. Her new assistant, Emily, is great too! Mary is definitely blessing to Arden Courts, Old Orchard. I also like Diane Pare, one of my mothers care givers. She really cares about my mom and the others residents on her wing, and she is very attentive . Becky is another outstanding and loving care giver, who works in all the wings and really loves all the residents. I must say that all of the caregivers, throughout the facility, are all really nice, caring and attentive individuals. They take care of our loved ones and are so very important. It's not an easy job. I am so thankful for them all. I have gotten to know a lot of the residents and their families, and everyone is so very nice. Arden Courts Old Orchard is top notch, and I'm so very thankful for it!
