I was recently telling a friend about my mother's time at Belmont, and realized I had never written a review! My mother lives here from 2018-2020 and it was wonderful for her. She had the l phase of Alzheimer's but was still very high functioning. The Circle of Friends program was perfect for her. She had a schedule with a class, music, exercise. She really did make friends in the "circle.". We loved to sit in the little garden together when I visited her. I watched her go from being fearful, quiet, and ashamed of her Alzheimers symptoms, to the confident, happy, extroverted woman she had been. They had wonderful enrichment events, like children's choirs coming into sing, and dogs from the shelter coming in for pets (my mom always told me about those dogs!) There were tea parties and birthday cakes. They even put together a celebration of Mama's life- the family contributed pictures and background, and we all attended for her special celebration slideshow. I also appreciated that she had regular cognitive tests, her medications were handled with no problems, and I could have talks with staff about her disease, especially what to expect and how to best communicate with someone with Alzheimer's. We only left because I had to move and we wanted Mama to be near family. If your loved one is at Belmont or ANY assisted living place, I recommend living in the same city so you can check on them, because it's a big place with a fair amount of staff turnover, and it's just common sense to do that. But overall the "pals" (caretaking staff) were just lovely. I am so happy that Mama could be at Belmont. Alzheimers is a terrible disease but it doesn't have to be all bad. My mother was happy here.

Belmont is a good care center for all types of residents. They have activities, music, exercises, brain stimulating exercises to engage the residents all day. I really love the atmosphere in that place. Caring, loving, and compassionate caregivers, administration staff and staff from Josephine kitchen. Staff on the third floor second shift are very mean, rude, and careless toward those poor residents with impaired memory. Please checked those girls on camera you will see that they know what they are doing. They have a group and their leader is very mean. She likes to pretend but she is not nice to those people. If you want to keep a good reputation, clear out those girls on the second shift 3 rd floor.

My family member is incontinent and was not being taken to bathroom or changed at all during the day. My family member was also left up in his wheel chair all night and was never put to bed. Sat in a wet diaper all day and all night - soaked through - urine all over the floor of his room. A caregiver covered his face with a weighted blanket and laid on top of him. Camera footage doesn't lie.

I am a nurse that visits facilities all over Houston and this facility is by far one of the best in Houston. Facility is beautifully designed and decorated. It is always clean. Staff is easily approachable and helpful. The Nurse Director is extremely knowledgeable and experienced with a try love and calling for assisted living. He is responsive to residents families and vendors. Residents are always on the go and engaged. If I needed placement for a loved one this would definitely be one of my top choices!

I went to visit my husband, who is a resident on the second floor, in memory care. I took him downstairs because there was entertainment. I don’t know the name of the entertainer, because she was filling in for the scheduled singer. It was a very nice way for us to “get away” for a while from his usual Day room where he spends most of his time. Also, a member of the staff made sure we had a comfortable place to sit. We had come downstairs after the entertainment started, so it was very nice not to have to look for a place to squeeze into, possibly interrupting another’s enjoyment.
