I can’t say enough about the incredible care my mother has received at Brookdale Memory Care. From the moment she arrived, the staff welcomed her with kindness, patience, and genuine compassion. They take the time to truly understand her needs and personality, and it shows in the way she’s treated every single day. What stands out most is the sense of calm and dignity they bring to an environment that could otherwise feel overwhelming. The caregivers communicate regularly, keep me informed, and go above and beyond to make sure my mom feels safe, engaged, and loved. It gives me great peace of mind knowing she’s in a place where people care about her as a person—not just as a resident. Brookdale has become an extension of our family, and I’m deeply grateful for the comfort and quality of life they’ve helped restore to my mom. — Karen Hollands
We had a very disappointing experience. The younger staff were caring and the older staff, jaded. We needed placement for a couple and were told they could do end of life care with Hospice. Unfortunately, they didn’t tell us that such care could not include bringing in a hospital bed. They were too eager to to “qualify” this senior couple, one of whom died in less than a month, and the survivor left the next day. I question their sanitation practices. Security is also a concern. I was never asked who I was, and I walked in and out without an issue. Remember this is a for-profit location. Investigate carefully.
We placed my stepdad at Ithaca Brookdale Crossings last fall after having a less then optimal experience with another assisted living facility. If I could give the Crossings staff more than 5 stars, I would. Everyone knows my stepdad and his little quirks and just how to take care of him and other residents in a very loving and respectful manner. As family, I always feel taken care of too, and my requests to take him out for ice cream in the late afternoon or watch a movie in the evening are not a bother, but a joy to his life. I'm glad we found Crossings and would highly recommend it for someone who was searching for high quality dementia care in Ithaca NY.
Moving my mother into assisted living was a very difficult decision to make. All of the staff at Brookdale takes time to get to know the residents and the staff is extremely dedicated to making the residents feel cared for. All the staff recognize me when I call and every staff member is aware of the status of any resident at any given time. I have been extremely satisfied that my mother is well cared for.
Mom never went and still billing me. Like they obviously don't know who is there. Overpriced and rooms are sad looking. Really wouldn't put my dog in Brookdale Ithaca NY.
